No, Parcells stayed on with the Jets as President and GM for one more year. Bellicheck took him to NE. I wasn't referring to the team performance, I was referring to Brady's individual performance and the style of NE's offense. I'm not even considering this season since Moss/Stallworth/Welker will make most QB's look very good (in the case of a QB as good as Brady they make him look like one of the greatest of all time). The playcalling has changed for NE significantly since Weis left, and Brady has benefited greatly from it. Don't get me wrong gipper, I actually like ND alot. They're probably my second favorite college team behind PSU. All I'm saying is Weis gained alot of credit by being the OC of a superbowl team. Most coaches do, however alot of them turn out to be duds once they're on their own. Personally speaking, being familiar with Weis' past history prior to those superbowls, I don't think he's all that he is made out to be. I still think it is way too early to make a definitive judgment on him, but there is certainly cause for concern.
More than a few ND fans (me included) wonder about Charlies play calling genius, it's a lot easier to be a genius OCoord/Playcaller when you have all the tools and horses. Mike Martz was a genius when Warner and company were all present and accounted for with the Rams, he's not been as bright since that started to breakup. Jimmy Johnson was a genius with the Smith/Aikman Cowboys teams, no so much with the Dolphins. Charlie has a lot to prove to me next year. Terry
