GOT THIS FROM THE NEBRASKA BOARDS, PRETTY SERIOUS FACTS.

    1. Nebraska's Worst Home Defeat Since 1958 - 10/13/07 - (and against the 116th worst defense in the Country at that);
    Oklahoma State 45 Nebraska 14

    2. Callahan didn't play Number 2 quarterback AT ALL in a 45-14 pasting (10/13/07);

    3. Chase Daniel (Missouri) has career day againts Nebraska (10/6/07);
    Missouri 41 Nebraska 6

    4. Texas Tech 70 Nebraska 10 (October 9, 2004);

    5. Callahan Lifetime Coaching Achievement AWARD:
26-18 at Nebraska for a NU Career Win Percentage of 59%
110-87-1 Career Head Coaching Record Win % of 55%
200-174-5 Record of Teams He Has Coached with
    in his 29 year coaching career Win % of 52%;

    6. Only 18 Passes against Oklahoma State (ranked 116th in total defense) on October 13, 2007;

    7. USC 457 Total Yards of Offense (September 2007 49-31 Loss);

    8. Ball State 610 Total Yards (September 2007 - 41-40 Win w/ BS receiver dropping the winning TD with 24 seconds left);

    9. Seven times, between 1962 and 2003 (41 years), Nebraska gave up 40 or more points in a game.
NINE times since then (3+ years), Nebraska has surrendered 40 or more points in a game.

    10. Steve Pederson is not a Division I Quality AD at least not at Nebraska. Check out his resume at Pitt. See how Pitt is faring now.

    11. I was curious when it was that past Nebraska teams had surrendered their 219th point during the course of their season....so I looked.

2006: 1st quarter against OU...Big XII championship game.
    2005: 10th game, KSU.
2004: 9th game, ISU (remember, this was the year of the 70 point Tech debacle!)
2003: only gave up 197 total points all year (13 games!) Oh, ironically enough, this was the year Solich was fired.
    2002: 10th game, Texas
2001: 13th game, Rose Bowl, Miami (Remember, this was the year of the 62 point CU debacle)
    2000: 13th game, Northwestern

No team between 1992 and 1999 gave up 219 point.

I had to go back to 1943. I time when the vast majority of us were not alive. A time when my own father had celebrated only his first birthday. A time when the world was captured in a global war against Nazism....a time when leather helmets were the order of the day..to find the last time Nebraska gave up more points through its first 7 games.

    1943.

I looked. Ironically enough, it also appears that 1943 was the last time a Nebraska defense gave up THREE 40+ point games.

    12. Oklahoma State Game from 2006 - NU 29 OSU 41 . . . OSU had 496 Total Yards last year.

    13. Kansas game - lost to KU in 2005 15-40.

    14. ADSP and Huskers.com declare Pederson had a "definitive role" in the 94 95 & 97 Championships. Please.

    15. Not even sniffing the top 25. "NU is #52. Lowest point since 9/10/2005."

    16. 2007 – This year’s defense would be the 2nd worst defense in Nebraska history if the season ended today.

    17. 2004 Kevin Cosgrove’s first effort as DC makes this list. The 5-6 Cornhuskers were outscored by an average of 25 to 27.1 per game.

    18. Since 1962 Nebraska has given up 40 points in a game 20 times, 9 of them were by Callahan and 4 THIS YEAR ALONE. This could actually be considered 9 separate pieces of evidence. The 4 in one season with 5 games to go . . .

Callahan Head Coach 9 Times - 4 THIS SEASON ALONE:

    12) Texas Tech, 70 in 2004
    13) Kansas State, 45 in 2004
    14) Kansas, 40 in 2005
    15) Missouri, 41 in 2005
    16) Oklahoma St, 41 in 2006
    17) USC, 49 in 2007
    18) Ball State, 40 in 2007
    19) Missouri 41 in 2007
    20) Oklahoma St. 45 in 2007

    19. Bill Callahan's "f***ing hillbillies" quote . . . that IS NOT NEBRASKA. Nebraskans have far much more class . . . especially against OU . . . we have the greatest respect for OU.

    20. Throat-slash . . . (taken alone . . . maybe not much . . . but in the body of all the overwhelming evidence . . . a big part). Nebraska doesn't conduct itself by these types of actions.

    21. Sam Keller had never met Tom Osborne, or seen him in person, until Friday.

Osborne, the retired Nebraska coach and former congressman, addressed the team with a speech about sticking together.

“He had some great messages,” Keller said, “and hearing it from a coach who’s been there and won championships … you have respect for a guy like that.”

    22. Coach Callahan FAILS to play Backup Quarterback Ganz in last two games in which Nebraska is Blown Out.

This number is separate from his failing to play Ganz in the OSU game. With 5:14 remaining in Missouri and trailing 41-6 Coach Callahan reinserts Keller . . . yielding yet zero points. Recall it was Coach Callahan who "told" the fans it was too close to call . . . and yes, this "two close" to call backup quarterback hasn't seen a single snap in the last two disasterous performances.

    23. "His 26-18 record is not really acceptable, even for a "culture change," that, oddly, seems to need a power running game to work. And his 0-15 mark when trailing at halftime is hilarious." (Recently in newspaper article.)

    24. Lost at HOME to Southern Mississippi in 2004. A sign of things to come. Southern Miss 21 Nebraska 17.

    25. First losing season in 4 decades.
First non-bowl season in nearly 4 decades.
First loss to Kansas in nearly 4 decades.
First home loss to Ok. State in, what, 4+ decades.

WifeThinksImCrazy . . . it may well be our SECOND losing season not just in the last 4 decades but in the last 4 years. It may well be the SECOND non-bowl season not just in 4 decades but in 4 years.

    26. Today's ESPN reports: "Okie State's 38 first-half points were the most Nebraska has ever allowed before halftime." MOST EVER . . .

    27. Bill Callahan (10), Nebraska
    Year: 4th.
Bill Callahan and the Huskers have suffered back-to-back blowout losses.

Record: 4-3 this year, with the final five opponents all owning winning records. At 26-18 overall, Callahan has the lowest winning percentage of any Cornhuskers coach since Bill Jennings (1957-61).

    28. Huddle to Sideline Time: Callahan has his quarterback come to the sideline before most every play.

    29. Clueless: Callahan said his confidence in his own abilities haven't been shaken.

"I know in my heart of hearts I'm doing an excellent job, a good job," Callahan said.

    30. Just a few stats from the 2007 Season:

"Callahan did not mention that they rank 106th in rushing defense, 98th in punt returns or 86th in turnover margin."

    31. ESPN may not be showing Nebraska a lot of love but CALLAHAN deserves this one:

    ESPN's Bottom Ten:

    5. Nebraska
4-3 "Dazed And Confused": Over the past 45 years, the Huskers have lost only three home games by more than 15 points. Li'l Red's seen two of them this season.

    32. Callahan's reduction and near extinction of the walk-on program.

    33. Stretch play left. Stretch play right.

    34. No real fullback play - pass catching or running the ball. We simply line up another blocker in that position. The defense does not even need to EVER worry about the fullback running the ball or catching it.

    35. Callahan's comments following the Auburn game:

"We're getting there," Callahan said. "And it won't be long, believe me."

Callahan reiterated Monday that Nebraska is closing the gap. He also said, "We weren't ready to be a Top 10 team just yet,".

Callahan also has the players speaking his language . . . just a few plays, a couple of blocks, in position but just didn't make the play . . . etc.

"That's not how we feel," Bradley said. "That's where our record puts us, I guess. But we're a couple of plays away from having a really different season."

    36. Auburn game - early second quarter:

"Lined up in punt formation from its 29-yard line three plays into the second quarter, NU made a short snap to Dane Todd with the intent of having him pitch it to Andrew Shanle on a reverse. Auburn sniffed it out, Shanle never got the football and the Tigers took over on the Huskers' 14."

    37. Kansas game 2006 at home (Lincoln, Nebraska).

Nebraska's defense gave up 574 TOTAL YARDS on 94 offensive plays.

Yes, Nebraska won 39-32 in OT . . . but clearly outcoached. Nebraska ran only 65 plays to KU's 94. Nebraska was only 3 of 12 in third down conversions.

    38. Pitt game 2005:

    Nebraska 7 Pitt 6

ONE touchdown against a 5-6 Pitt team (Pitt allowed or Ohio U. scored 10 on Pitt the week before Nebraska played them).

Nebraska was 3 or 15 in third down conversions.

    39. Kansas State Game 2004

Nebraska LOST to a 4-7 Kansas State Team by the score of 45-21. Pasted by a 4-7 team.

Further, KSU had 418 Total Yards to Nebraska's 222 yards.

And . . . Nebraska was 2/11 on third down conversions.

    40. SDHusker: "Did I post the 14-13 conf record and being outscored in those games?"

    41. Missouri game 2005:

Missouri thumped Nebraska by a score of 41-24.

Missouri racked up 523 TOTAL YARDS to Nebraska's 279. Missouri ran 87 plays to Nebraska's 62 and Nebraska was 3 of 14 in third down conversions.

    42. A set number of sideline passes will be made available to Ex-Players for every home game.
The pictures will be taken out of storage and the Wall of All Americans restored!
Security will be lightened and Access to the complex for past Huskers will be granted.

    43. WORST RECORD by an NFL team after a trip to the Super Bowl. Callahan went 4-12 the year after the Super Bowl Appearance (further - the Raiders LOST 6 games that year).

    44. "An offense that had ranked first in 2002 looked predictable in 2003, prompting Callahan to tell reporters after the defeat: 'I think teams have caught up to us. I would freely admit that.'" Does that sound familiar?

    45. Callahan at Oakland: ''It started wrong in training camp,'' Shaw said. ''He made a comment like he didn't need any friends and he didn't want to be our friend; he only needed to coach. Crazy stuff. Guys were looking around like, 'What?' I think he got a little beside himself and lost a lot of people's confidence.''

    46. Callahan appeals to recruits and the prospect of getting to the NFL. The Nebraska culture is one that appeals to the TEAM . . . etc. (See recent post by NUFootballTim and where BC went wrong.)

    47. Callahan's inability or refusal to utter the words: "Tom Osborne."

    48. Coach Callahan is 23-18 against Division I-A programs (three of his wins come against I-AA). That my friends is a win percentage of 56%.

    49. Lawinter,

More evidence. Here is Cally's points per game (ppg) vs ranked opponents

    vs Top 25 19 ppg
    vs Top 20 17.1 ppg
    vs Top 15 16.7 ppg
    vs Top 10 14.2 ppg
    vs Top 5 14.2 ppg

Is it any wonder WCO stands for We Can't Outscore and Billy's nickname is One Drive Callahan.

    Those number are beyond pathetic.

    50. The LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR (today is 10/19/2007) contributes this:

"By the numbers: 104 - What Nebraska ranks in total defense out of 119 major college football teams. The Huskers are giving up an average of 457.1 yards a game. The most yards per game previously given up in a season by a Husker defense is 379.5, in 1948."

    51. Texas A&M 36 Nebraska 14

    52. 0-16 when trailing at half.

    53. JOE GANZ. Yes, I am an advocate now . . . the NUMBER 2 quarterback DESERVES to be given some meaningful playing time. ZERO in the last 3 games in which we have lost badly. No excuse for this. NONE.

    54. Posted elsewhere:

Huskers have Lost by a Combined 88 Points the Past Three Games
88 points total in defeat the past three games...

The last time it was worse: 1945 (quick browse through history...assuming I didn't miss anything).

In 1945, Nebraska lost their first five games.

Games 1 through 4 looked like this:

    09/29 Oklahoma Lincoln L 0-20
    10/06 Minnesota Lincoln L 7-61
    10/13 Indiana Bloomington L 14-54
    10/20 Iowa State Ames L 7-27

Either games 1 through 3 or 2 through 4 result in the same combined margin of defeat... 114 points.

    55. STEPHEN MCGEE: ANOTHER opponent has a CAREER day against the Huskers:

"Using a triple-option offense reminiscent of the one Osborne employed during his Hall of Fame coaching career, the Aggies ran over Nebraska 36-14 on Saturday.

Stephen McGee set career highs with 35 carries for 167 yards and Jorvorskie Lane rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns for the Aggies (6-2, 3-1 Big 12)."

    56. Minimal playing time for Dillard (unless found to have been injured).

    57. Offensive Predictablility:

Even our own fans make this observation . . . what do you think Defensive Coordinators and the defense on the field are doing.

"With apologies to BigRedHeathen, who referred to this tendency in another thread, I would like to bring up a subject about this offense over the past four games. At the game yesterday, I and my friends were about 90 percent accurate in declaring the type of play to be run by which back was in. Lucky was always in for some type of swing or screen pass, Castille for a run between the ends, and Helu for a wide run. The only question was if Lucky might run, but that usually didn't work anyway. The defenses were watching the personnel changes coming in and then calling the defense.
Not quite as predictable as Crouch/Lord will run the ball, but almost."

    58. Jeff Sagarin NCAA football ratings . . . who generally has treated Nebraska well . . . has Nebraska at . . . drum roll please . . .

    #63

    59. Second time in 4 years under Callahan that Nebraska WILL NOT be going to a Bowl game.

(You may think this is premature . . . and I'll will gladly take it down if I am wrong.)

Further, there may be those of you thinking I hope they lose . . . nothing could be further from the TRUTH or EVIDENCE. This is being posted based upon the Totality of the Evidence before me.

    60. Second losing season in 4 years under Callahan. (See disclaimer in #59 . . .)

    61. UNBELIEVABLE:

I have been searching for the answer as to why Number 2 (backup) Quarterback Joe Ganz has not played since the Nevada game.

Well, here is the answer given by Coach Watson:

[this part of the story as written in the LJS] "What does backup quarterback Joe Ganz have to do to see a snap these days, anyway? Ganz hasn’t played quarterback since a lopsided game in the season opener against Nevada.

Speaking of lopsided games … why not give Ganz a look in these already-decided games in the fourth quarter? Why is Sam Keller still playing?"

“He’s the starter, and we don’t want to send the wrong message to our players,” offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said. “We want to keep fighting.”

(WRONG MESSAGE? Knock . . . knock . . . is anyone home? With 5:14 left in the Missouri game Nebraska was trailing 41-6 and the Coaches sent Keller back in . . . and then with 5:16 left in the Oklahoma State game and Nebraska trailing 45-7 . . . in comes Keller again.

NO, the wrong message is leaving Ganz on the bench. You wonder why these coaches have lost this team . . . here is EXHIBIT Number 1 of many.

Absolutely wrong. Coach - unmitigated disaster.

Watson said Ganz has been fine in practice.

“Joe’s been excellent. He’s a consummate team player,” Watson said. “He’s done a good job. He’s been very supportive of Sam and what we’re doing, and he’s really been into the game the whole time.”

Just not in the game. That’s a shame.

    62. TOTAL Defense in 2007:

There is no where but UP!

Nebraska has the 105th rated out of 119 Division I football in Total Defense.

Look at who has the 2nd rated in terms of Total Defense:

    105. Nebraska 8 621 3659 5.89 33 457.38

    2. LSU 8 502 1858 3.70 15 232.25

    63. After Nebraska's loss to Colorado to end the 2004 season at 5-6 Callahan made the following statement . . . (a sort of hallmark for his career at Nebraska):

"It was really disappointing today to finish the season on this note. I'm really proud of the way they fought and competed; the way that they came back today. A break here or there and it could have been a different ball game. I think we were in a position to win a game today and we just didn't get it done. It wasn't our best. We just didn't play our best today.

Wow! That sounds like the same crap he has dished out after every loss for 4years. Way to make adjustments Callahan.

    64. I recently read in today's (10/22/2007) Lincoln Journal Star the following answer when asked what adjustments could have been made against A&M's option. Coach (unmitigated disaster of a coach) Callahan stated: "Oh, I think it's probably too technical for you, but I think in the broad spectrum of adjustments, just playing the quarterback a little bit better on the zone read in terms of the front assignments."

Note: The journalist should have offered up the following response: Well give us the explanation and let us decide if it is too technical for us to understand. ANSWER THE QUESTION.

    65. Scoring Defense: Rated #91 Nebraska 8 33 30 0 0 0 9 0 255 31.9 4 4 0 through 8 games.

    66. Turn over margin 2007: Rated#106 - Nebraska 8 3 7 10 9 10 19 -1.13 4 4 0

    67. Some other 2007 Stats:

Sacks: Rated#111 Nebraska (overrated stat per Coaches at NU)

Tackles for Loss 2007: Rated#85 Nebraska

Tackles for loss allowed 2007: #9 (Ouch.)

    3rd Down Conversions (Defense): #108

    68. READ the Press Conference Quotes . . . Coach Callahan is an UNMITIGATED DISASTER as a Head Coach. “I don’t acknowledge that book at all. All I would tell you is ... I’ve done an excellent job in every area. It’s hard for the media to know, but what we’ve done off the field, and what we’ve done on the field. I think it’s well-documented,” Callahan said.

    69. Callahan’s answer: “I think it takes time. Those classes take time. We’re playing a lot of young guys. I think it takes time. I really do. I think it’s a circumstance where you just try to keep growing with the players that you have. And I love our kids. They’re trying hard. They’re working hard.”

    70. Just think on this for a moment:

"We use Helu, Castille, Lucky in diff situations and we give them plays that suite their greatest talents."

You think the DEFENSIVE COORDINATORS of our opponents haven't figured this one out? What on earth . . . can you say "unmitigated disaster" as a Head Coach. Add to that . . . No running plays to the fullback, rare pass to the fullback . . . rarely goes over the middle on the pass . . .etc.

PREDICTABLE. See a quote about Callahan after his "Super Bowl" year . . . he was PREDICTABLE. (See #44 above.)

    71. Callahan - Head Coach of the Nebraska football team. The Head Coach of the team that produces the highest profile members of the "N" Club. Callahan should have insisted that former Coach Osborne be invited to the event. Read the article from 3/29/2007 set forth in a separate post.

    NU golf outings conflict
    BY LEE BARFKNECHT
    WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

LINCOLN - The third annual Nebraska Lettermen's Club golf tournament, sponsored by the athletic department the day before NU's football spring game, faces homegrown competition this year.

    72. Husker In Oklahoma got me thinking back to 2004 and here is another one:

A 7-5 Iowa State team hangs 466 TOTAL YARDS on Nebraska's defense and won 34-27.

    73. Nutronic . . . excellent evaluation of an unmitigated disaster of a Head Coach.

    By Nutronic:

The list of head-scratching quotes grows
This time its LDHCBC in this afternoon's Omaha World-Herald, talking about Cody Glenn's lack of playing time:

"Callahan said Glenn is neither injured nor in the doghouse.

"'We're just in a rhythm with those other players right now,' Callahan said. 'I visited with Cody last week and kind of explained the situation to him. Right now, we're just playing the hot hand.'"

In a "rhythm" the way synchronized swimmers are in a rhythm? "Hot" the way 4 TDs in the last 12 quarters is hot? With NU's running game so impotent that Cialis couldn't revitalize it, this is his justification for keeping a proven performer off the field for the whole game? With zero second half points against A&M, he sure didn't want to disrupt that "rhythm" ...

    74. HONESTY - yes, the Coaches have told Ganz they want to get Keller in a Rhythm, or he is getting into a rhythm, etc and they have explained in the media it would send the wrong message:

As an advocate (and a lawyer) I have been working building the case that there is overwhelming evidence of Callahan being an unmitigated disaster as a Head Coach and that he will not be coaching in the future in Lincoln.

I have also found myself being an ADVOCATE for JOE GANZ. I believe he deserves to be playing.

In today (10/25/2007) Lincoln Journal are these quotes:

“We didn’t pull Sam out because he’s the starter, and you don’t want to send the wrong message to the players,” Nebraska offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson said. “You want to keep fighting.”

    To that, Ganz agrees.

“I understand, because as quarterback, it’d be tough to be taken out every couple of series,” the redshirt junior said. “You want to get in a rhythm, you want to get on a roll. That’s going to be when things start clicking. I can understand why they wouldn’t want to get him out of that rhythm."

Come on Coach Callahan . . . you have really missed it on this one. To imagine telling the number 2 quarterback he is not playing because it would send the wrong message OR the starter is in a rhythm or getting into a rhythm.

WHAT? What rhythm was Keller in during the 41-6 thumping against Missouri. We score ZERO touchdowns.

WHAT? What rhythm was Keller in during the 45-14 thumping against OSU when they scored 38 unanswered points in the first half.

WHAT? What rhythm was Keller in during the second half of the A&M game?

Do you think Ganz respects Coach Callahan and Watson for those excuses for not playing him? Yes, Ganz is a great TEAM player for speaking the way he is . . . but internally he knows they are not speaking the truth.

    75. ZERO Wins in October 2007. (O for October) UNMITIGATED DISASTER.

    75. 1961 - last time NU lost 4 straight

    76. 1948 - last time NU did not win a game in October

    77. Nebraska is last... dead last. 119 of 119 in the nation in run defense.

    78. Another athlete of one of Nebraska's Opponents has a career day against the Huskers:

"In the end, it was another brutal day in Nebraska’s brutal season. You could rightfully criticize the Huskers’ defense for once again collapsing to a startling degree — Charles ran for 216 yards and three touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone — and you could also skewer the Husker head coach for becoming conservative on offense early in the fourth quarter when his team needed him to go for the throat."

    79. This is ONE of the MOST offensive pieces of evidence compiled against soon-to-be former Nebraska Head Coach Bill Callahan.

I have been one of the biggest advocates of Joe Ganz and have believed he deserved to be given the opportunity to appear in games and actually have some meaningful playing time.

It is one of the pieces of evidence which CLEARLY, OVERWHELMINGLY and Beyond ANY doubt demonstrates Coach Callahan is an unmitigated disaster as a head coach and completely incompetent. He has treated Joe Ganz in an incredibly disrespectful manner by:

Not giving him ANY playing time whatsover in blowout losses to:

    USC
    Missouri
    Oklahoma State; and
    Texas A&M.

Yes, that is right . . . in games where Joe Ganz could have had plenty of meaningful playing time . . . Coach Callahan refused.

THEN, in the Texas game . . . Nebraska's starter is INJURED . . . and guess what? We need to turn to the backup QB at a time when the game is still within reaches of a victory.

Do you have any doubt in your mind that FOOTBALL 101 in College states: play you backup quarterback in situations in which the game is well under control (or at Nebraska this year way beyond reach)?

Is there any question he should have been given meaningful playing time for just such a situation?

    NONE AT ALL.

Disgraceful and competely reveals Callahan is an Unmitigated Disaster.

    80. 4th and 10 from the 25 and trailing by 11. Need two scores. Wrong call.

    81.

    RESUME

    Overall record: 26-20
    Record v. Div. I teams: 23-20
    Big Twelve Record: 14-16

    Stats through October 27, 2007

    82. The final stat sheet shows that Nebraska's defense was once again gashed. This time the figure was 545 yards in what has been a season full of record-setting performances and not the good kind. On Monday, it's a good bet that Charles will become the fourth consecutive player to earn Big 12 Conference offensive player of the week honors after playing against the Huskers.

    83. 0-10 v. Top 10 Competition

    fat eddy . . . you asked . . . added.

    84. Bill Callahan is:

    8-12 on the road, and
2-6 on the road against a ranked opponent at the time of the game.

    85. Here are that stats (rank) for 2006 - 2007

    2006 - 2007

    Rushing Offense 23 69
    Passing Offense 23 21
    Total Offense 14 36
    Scoring Offense 17 62
    Rushing Defense 37 119
    Passing Defense 79 63
    Total Defense 56 107
    Scoring Defense 24 91

Significantly, Nebraska has dropped in Scoring offense significantly AND DRAMATICALLY dropped in SCORING DEFENSE. Additionally, our current scoring offense when compared against our scoring defense shows Nebraska will lose more than they win (essential to score MORE than given up).

Our TOTAL DEFENSE and RUSH DEFENSE are "indefensible". Bad coaching - plain and simple. The talent Nebraska has should never result in our being dead last in rush defense and 107th in total defense.

    86. Nebraska (as of 10/27/2007) ranks in the following:

    Punt Returns 104
    Kickoff Returns 49
    Turnover Margin 106
    Sacks 112
    Tackles For Loss T-93

    87. THIS IS A DUPLICATE but wanted the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week Writeups From the Big 12 Official Site Here To Read:

Charles scored on scampers of 86, 40 and 25 yards.

    10/22/07
    Offensive Player of the Week

Interesting, somebody put a lot of work into those factoids.

What are you expecting in the Neb/KU game? It's down there so you know those Jayhawks are going to be fired up, having lost so many games to you guys over the years. Didn't you at one time beat them 36 years in a row?

We did Doc, up until 2 years ago. Keller is gone for the season now, we'll get to see a more mobile QB and just as decent passer in Ganz.

With 5:14 remaining in the Nebraska v. Missouri game and Nebraska trailing 41-6 Coach Callahan sends Keller back into the game. Nebraska fails again to score a touchdown or another point. Nebraska finished with 6 points vs. Missouri's 41.

Coach Callahan fails to play our backup quarterback in two consecutive blow out losses.

Remember August . . . Coach Callahan not announcing a starter . . . stating it was too close. Here we are 4-3 . . . two disasterous blowouts and our "too close" backup quarterback doesn't see any action.

    Fire Callahan in the MORNING.

    Abandon Nebraska Culture:

On July 25, 2004 Coach Callahan in a question and answer session had the following question posed:

Q - "Can the West Coast Offense be successful in Nebraska?"

A - - "This style of offense has been featured on the professional level with great success. Implementing this offense successfully on the collegiate level will be a huge challenge to our team and coaches. The West Coast Offense is unique in today's college football because it gives a player great exposure into the details of the professional game. This type of exposure can really give a player an edge in his development and assist him in his dream to play in the NFL."

Major Warning Flags . . . (1) He did not address the question directly . . . there is definately no YES in the answer; (2) He indicated it will be a huge challenge; and (3) It is clearly and almost SOLELY FOCUSED on "great exposure into the details of the professional game" and "can give a player an edge in his development and assist him in his dream to play in the NFL."

Whoa Nellie . . . Read that again. Yes, you read it right.

    2004 = 6 losses
    2005 = 4 losses
    2006 = 5 losses
    2007 = 5+ losses

You're right Coach, it does take time...your time, not ours.

Nutronic . . . excellent evaluation of an unmitigated disaster of a Head Coach.

    This has become officially bizarre.

1961 - last time NU lost 4 straight

1948 - last time NU did not win a game in October

And now the new NCAA stats. Nebraska is last... DEAD LAST!!. 119 of 119 in the nation in run defense.

Three more pieces of the already overwhelming evidence.

    Doc,

If that does happen and he doesn't get fired, I can only assume Dr. Tom is doing 2 things. (1) Sticking to his word that he would keep everyone in place until seasons end (2) He's letting Callahan hang himself and it'll be a justified firing.
