    8) Geeez.....I hope we don't incur the unbalanced wrath of some people when I say that ND showed promise at 38-0 to USC.

....by that I mean that it could have been 50-0 so the lower 38-0 was a moral victory of sorts

Sure, its now 1-7 ..buts ita a good 1-7....after all ....perenial patsy Navy is next.....so ND will win that one.

Go Charlie Weis...the offensive genius getting paid the big bucks....you deserve all the money you've earned.

Hey, maybe next year ND will be closer to .500 ball......what a positive turn.....just make sure you beat Navy.

Oh, forgot to tell you.....Temple won....they have two wins.....double what ND has.....but don't despair.....FIU still winless.....so ND is only second worst team in NCAA D1....thats a positive huh?

Great Loss ND !!!!.....narrow the gap some more !!!!

ND picked up another 5* recruit this weekend. Guess he could have gone to Miami but let's face it a 1-7 ND is a far better place to go. No to mention the fans aren't assholes like Miami's.

 8) :D HEY MODERATORS....is it ok for me to use the a__h..es adjective too?....thats not flaming cause its Miami....I know.

    Also, I made a terrible mistake.....Temple has three wins.....triple ND's

I looked up Vandy but they have 4 wins......hmmmm

Great news on the new commit for ND....wonderful !!!....Charlie Weis is a terrific coach....he'll rectify this while we are still young.

Is it true USC's win is the biggest in the last 79 years of this series?

Gonzo let me give you a little piece of advice. If you want to keep pushing th e envelope you will have more and more topics blocked. You intentionally agitate and then try to make the moderators think someone else is posting like you when they are not.

Tread easy or this topic will end up like the others, locked.

You might also go back and read the post, by George I think, where it seems you will never answer in any logical manner questions ask of you about Miami.

In the final analysis it is the moderators who will make the final decision about whether one of your topics survive or not. Like it or not that's the way it is.

It's a real shame you have to act like you do because you could bring something positive to this forum.

But it's obvious you would rather insult than do that.

And I have better things to do than just try to keep up with you and how far you want to push things.

As I've said before try acting like an adult.

I know that might be difficult, but give it a try.

 8) :D So Bill.....you are saying its ok for others to call people the 'a word" but not for me?

    Its that how you think?

Where's the agitation factor?.....I posted facts in this thread.....all correct....except for Temple which I rectified as three wins versus two.

Are you being fair and balanced?

You're only intention in starting this thread was to take a shot at ND. Just like your Neb thread.

 8) :D Its more of a frank assesment of current conditions....and in the Nebraska case I painted some very interesting and real scenarios that are constructive as well.

Like I have told you in numerous past occasions....you are welcome to take the usual shots at Miami.......just be fair and square.

If ND is 1-7 ...thats a fact....if they lose 38-0 thats another fact.....if its USC's biggest margin of victory in the 79 year history....its also a fact.

Can facts be posted?....can Miami fans be called a....h....les?.....I can live with that.

Gonzo, let me lay out some other facts for you.

I'm a moderator here, I do it for free as do the other two moderators. I do it because I enjoy most all the people here and because we have a nice little community.

What I don't do it for is aggravation, and that is what I get from you. I doubt seriously that in your business you would tolerate someone who constantly pushes the envelope like you do here.

I have company right now and have better things to do that deal with one of your childish topics where you try to push people as far as you can, including me I believe.

Did someone else use some language, yes, and I believe you were trying to push that kind of response. However we have not been dealing with language issues here for the most part. A few times, but not many.

When we activated your account again you were clearly told we were taking a stronger stand with these kinds of things. As I recall you said fine you would abide by the Skybox philosophy with flames.

    But you are not.

Now let me make this as clear as I can, and I'm only speaking for one moderator, we are not going to tolerate your childish attacks on Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida or anyone else.

So since you want to keep pushing things realize that when you are communicating with me it's as a moderator not as a fan, because I refuse to deal with you as a fan until you grow up.

As a moderator I will have the respect from you that I am due for the effort I put in here.

I'll leave it to the other two moderators as to whether they agree with me or not, but remember this, even though as moderators we strive to be together in everything, that if even one of the other moderators agree with me, you are skating on thin ice.

I'm very close to locking this topic.

    Gonzo,

I have personally, as a moderator, edited foul language in posts. I did that to keep from deleting posts. I did not change the meaning, just the words used to express that meaning.

If Gipper's attack on you (yes I agree it was an attack) was unprovoked, I would have edited it. The post would have been deleted if any complaints were registered about the edit. However, your nah-nah-nah-boo-boo attitude provokes that kind of response.

MCG has toned down his style and you now see moderators, including myself, jumping in and helping him. When you tone down your style, you will reap the same benefit. Until then, don’t expect sympathy from me when someone pulls the pin and throws your grenade back at you.

This is a lot of crap. To even respond to this gives this two bit phony credence.

This guy is reported to be a wealthy, successful businessman in the Miami area. Reported by him, that is.

I know a few wealthy people. I can't envision them getting on a BB like this and posting schoolyard taunts like Gonzo does. They wouldn't waste their valauble time or self-tarnish their own reputations in such a way.

Has it occured to anyone that maybe this guy is not who he says he is? I've tried to be civil with him over the years; it's never reciprocated. He's wasting my time... I would hope he's wasting yours too. I say f..k him. Give him the boot.

 8) :D FACTS, FACTS, FACTS
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Southern Cal found the cure to its struggles: Notre Dame.

No. 13 USC had struggled through three straight Pac-10 games, including a stunning loss to Stanford. The Trojans got back some of their injured players Saturday against the Fighting Irish and played like the team that began the season ranked No. 1, beating Notre Dame 38-0.

"We've been pretty well banged up, got shocked a few weeks back, and it was really important for us to gain our stride," USC coach Pete Carroll said. "We felt coming into this week we were getting stronger."

Mark Sanchez threw four touchdown passes, two on short drives after Irish miscues, to pace the Trojans to their largest margin of victory in the 79-game history of the storied rivalry.

"It's a butt kicking today," Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis said.

Notre Dame can still claim the most-lopsided victory in the series, a 51-0 win over the Trojans in 1966. That's surely little consolation to the Irish and their fans, as Notre Dame trudges through a horrible season.

"You see where they are; you see where we are," Weis said. "We're at different ends of the spectrum at this point."

The Irish are at the wrong end compared to a lot of teams. They also lost 38-0 to Michigan earlier this season. The two 38-point losses are tied for the eighth worst losses in Notre Dame history. It was the worst Irish home loss, though, since they were beaten 40-0 by top-ranked Oklahoma in 1956.

When asked if he believes the Irish have hit rock bottom, Weis chose his words carefully.

"I'm going to answer that very cautiously, because I don't want to be called sarcastic using New Jersey rhetoric," he said. "So let me just say people better enjoy it now, have their fun now."

    The Trojans certainly did.

Making his second start for the injured John David Booty, Sanchez got off to a shaky start as he had to call timeout twice during the first four plays because of confusion.

It's all about the finish, though, and in the end he was 21-of-38 for 235 yards and four TDs, with no interceptions or sacks.

"I felt real comfortable and calm," Sanchez said. "I got the jitters out last week. I felt like I could just go and play. The team was behind me and the defense did an unbelievable job."

USC (6-1) won its sixth straight over the Irish, the longest streak for USC against Notre Dame. The Irish won 11 straight from 1983-93.

The Irish dropped to 1-7 for just the second time, matching the 1960 start. They are also assured of their 13th losing season since they started playing football in 1887, and the fourth losing season since 1999. The fourth consecutive home loss, tied a school record.

"Unfortunately, it got out of hand and we just didn't make any plays," said Evan Sharpley, who made his first start at quarterback.

Sharpley, starting ahead of Jimmy Clausen was sacked five times, and was 17-of-33 for 117 yards.

The game was competitive for a while. The Trojans didn't go ahead 14-0 until Allen Bradford caught an 8-yard TD pass with 3:55 left in the second quarter. Then the Trojans quickly turned it into a blowout.

The game was a stark contrast to the classic two years ago when top-ranked USC beat ninth-ranked Notre Dame 34-31 in the closing seconds as the teams traded great plays in the final minutes.

Notre Dame was held to 48 rushing yards on 30 carries, although those stats were slightly skewed because of the five sacks. The Irish have now given up a school record 39 sacks, one more than in 2002, and still have four games left to play.

USC had 462 yards total offense compared with 165 yards for Notre Dame. The Trojans, who have been struggling with injuries, got back several key players who had missed time, including tailback Stafon Johnson, who rushed for 47 yards on eight carries.

"We feel like we're regaining our momentum again," Carroll said. "We got whacked pretty good there for a while, and unfortunately we had to give up a game during the process. Now that we're back on track, this could be very pivotal for us."

You make some excellent points George and this topic is closed.

Whether it becomes more than that with Gonzo is up to him. A time out or more is up to him.
