An interesting article about Gator football, but also the big $$$ involved. How Florida Cashed In On College Football
No doubt the Gators are riding high at the moment and I do not see anything to interrupt the train! Don
He's definitely on the short list alongn with Jeff Tedord and several others. TT is a good candidate, especially when you consider his record against top 10 opponents, but he seems like RC part 2 to me (good defense, not much offense)... However, having a real honest to God defense and special teams is very darned appealing to me at this point, so I'll take any warm body that can deliver that!
I'm not sure he would either Terry, but there is some interesting stuff in his contract. Apparently his buyout clause is tied directly to facilities upgrades that he REALLY wants, but has yet to see materialize in Berkley. Cal Facilities: Coincidentally... we're just finishing up things he hasn't even been able to dream of. A&M Facilities: Never hurts to ask.
Scott.... <t>Tedford would shake this South up. I would be surprised at him leaving Cal but then after the Saban deal w/ Bama nobody should be shocked at anything concerning coaching changes.</t>
LOL!!! If they ever get those hippies down out of the tree's they actually do have plans on the table for facilities upgrades!
Anybody else think as I do that today's matchup between Bama and Tenn is a huge game for Saban. I am pretty certain that not one Bama fan expects him to lose this game.
Hmmmmmm <t>I don't know about that MCG. Prior to the season, most of the talking head shows here had this Bama team pegged to have anywhere from 2 to 4 losses on the year.<br/> <br/> While its a rivalry game, I don't think its the end of the world for them if they lose it. They never really expect to lose to Tennessee or Auburn, but it happens.<br/> <br/> Prior to the season, the consensus opinion of this Bama defense was that it would be the worst Tide defense to take the field since the early 60s. (I guess Bama had a real bad defense one year back in the day).<br/> <br/> That being said, I've gone round and round with Bama fans over JPWilson and the Bama fans love of the "6 foot tall, better than average athlete with a decent arm who happens to be a home town hero from Bama" type. Its a curse and they won't get back to the next level till they are more open minded about this. Saban likes those duel threat types so we'll see how things go with Fanuzzi and all future recruits.</t>
I think Saban pretty much has a pass for this year, baring some kind of total meltdown. Next year, those fans won't be so patient, and will expect great things for all that cash they are shelling out...
The Tennesee game (second only to the Auburn game) is a big rival game. This was not a must win for Saban but he did need to win one big. And he picked a great one to win big. No heat under Saban....yet!
