    My son-in-law obtained tickets to the Alabama/LSU game in Tuscaloosa and I am going. I may be on hand to see a loss but the chance to visit Tuscaloosa with 95,000 of my closest friends is too much to pass up. :D

    Terry,
    It has been over 20 years. I am flying into B'ham and staying with my daughter for a couple of days in Wetumpka and driving to Tuscaloosa Saturday morning. I have heard about all of the changes to the stadium and around the campus. Last time I went to a game I think the capacity was 65,000.

    Corey,
    I wasn't sure where you were located. My work takes me to Redstone periodically. Most of the time it is in one day out the next. I will let you know the next time. My wife has family in Decatur (actually Priceville).

    MCG,
    My cell ringtone plays Yea Alabama as does my favorite Corona opener, and right now we are tied for the lead in the SEC W. If we could pull off a win against LSU we could help ourselves alot. :idea:

    A win over UT wouldn't hurt either, huh KP?

    Alabama being a 1 point favorite at home is too low.

    I'll still bet on Tennessee but I would not be shocked by coming out of this one with our second SEC loss.

    <r>My ex-wife and somewhat frequent poster on the board Desiree lives in Decatur with my son Carson. In fact, those pictures I posted a while back of Carson playing football is of him as a "Decatur Red Raider." It appears that all the teams there are Red Raiders from 6 year olds all the way up to high school. I'm not too sure the kids who wind up going to Austin (Black Bears) appreciate that too much <E>:)</E><br/>
    <br/>
    She lives in SE Decatur, about a 5 minute scoot down 67 from Priceville.<br/>
    <br/>
    I'm now in Florence, downtown to be precise. Let me know when you're out this way again.</r>

    Tom,
    I thought about that as I responded to MCG. We need wins against them all. Tennessee, MSU, LSU and as always Auburn. The way we are playing I cannot imagine us being a favorite over anyone. This is alot like last year, we either win by a touchdown in the last minute or lose by a touchdown in the last minute. Bad for the heart.

    Tom, I have to ask you if you're in the camp that hopes Tennessee loses more games so they actually will give Fulmer the boot.

    I think Tennessee can quite easily run the table and make it to the SEC championship game. If they continue to run the ball, control the clock, and keep their defense off the field I think they will be all right. Erik Ainge is probably the most underappreciated QB in the country right now because of all the attention given Woodson and Tebow. Both of those guys are great QBs and will probably be very good pros, especially Tebow who is just a beast running and passing. I still think that Erik Ainge most closely resembles a true, pure pocket QB and is as talented or more talented than either of those guys. It's a shame UT hasn't had more talent around him during his career there or is it that they had the talent but needed better coaching. That is the question every UT fan is asking this season.

    I am in the camp that says win them all and THEN get rid of Fulmer. I have supported lame duck coaches in the past but that is over. Fulmer can no longer motivate this team to the level they need to be. It is time for him to gracefully bow out.

    I am certain that if Fulmer could win out against the brutal schedule to come for the Vols that the UT admin would have no choice but to renew and extend PF's contract.

    For once I don't think anyone here would have much to say about the SEC schedule given the top to bottom strength.

    I take that back.....there's always Gipper.... :wink:

    why? why why why why why?

    <r>would you take KP's section about being excited to go home to a Bama game to take the opportunity to turn this into one of your own personal "SEC Uber Alles" type of posts?<br/>
    <br/>
    I would say, if anything, that on field action this year does not bear your statement out. However, in the past you have discounted regular season action like a bottle of white out to ride the lightening of bowl results that serve your purpose. I am going to stop right now. Not because you are correct, but I know that blowing your theory out of the water (again) is a moot point at this stage of the season.<br/>
    <br/>
    Ugh.<br/>

    Corey....the statement above was made by Tom and does bring into play Tenn's performance to come vs. a tougher than usual SEC East.

    The BCS standings which are the only official opinion that counts....certainly much much more than Corey O'Connor's opinion....
    have 4 SEC teams in the top 15 and two usually middle of the pack or bottom rung SEC teams in the top 7.

    I suppose Notre Dame would waltz into Lexington or Columbia and just clock those teams? :evil: :evil:

    I have edited this three times in an effort to be a calmer....gentler MCG but I have to admit you and your Dad are pushing the envelope Corey.

    Have a nice day.

    ugh

    <r>only you would take the initial BCS polls and throw it around with any weight.<br/>
    <br/>
    If the BCS poll came out after Kentucky's trip to Columbia, they sure as hell wouldn't have been in it. Did I mention anything about ND's superiority?<br/>
    <br/>
    Yet, I digress.<br/>
    <br/>
    If you want to start an SEC Uber Alles thread then do it. If you want to debate the lame BCS standings, do it.<br/>
    <br/>
    Forget it, I'll do it for you<br/>
