Guys, I'm just curious. If I send Terry a PM... then decide I was a little to hard on his Horns for their showing last week, and delete it from my outbox, is that in effect like recalling an email and he'll never see it? Just wondering. BTW... the above is purely hypothetical... I'd NEVER razz Terry for getting thumped at home by the MildCats. NEVER! Almost never...
Once you hit the send button it's gone and you can't get it back. Just don't razz me about the 60 point whupping OU is going to put on us!
Why would I do that? So you could come back on me when they put up 100 against _ennis, and _arnell???
Not so Fast... Actually I think that you can recall it and I am going to test it. When you send it, the message goes to your Outbox. It stays there until the recipient reads it. The message then goes to your Sent folder. I think if you delete it before it gets to the Sent folder, it goes away. Terry, I just sent this same message to your PM. I then went to the outbox and deleted it. See if you see it in your inbox.
Terry just answered the question without ever knowing what the question was. He just received an e-mail notification that he had a private message. He went to his inbox and found nothing. He sent Bill and I a question about why he received a notification about a private message that was not there. I told him to come to this topic and it would answer his inquiry. Yes Scott. If you delete it from your outbox before the recipient sees it, they will not see what you wrote.
