OJ Simpson arrested over hotel holdup September 17, 2007 08:52am OJ SIMPSON has been arrested over the alleged armed robbery of his sporting memorabilia from a group of men in a Las Vegas hotel room. Simpson is being held at a Las Vegas police station after asking to see his lawyer, the Associated Press has reported. Police have said he will be charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a firearm among other offences. More charges could follow, police have said. "He was very co-operative, there were no issues," police captain James Dillon has said. One other person has been arrested over the alleged armed robbery. It was reported over the weekend that Simpson was being investigated. He insisted there were no guns involved and that he entered the room at the Palace Station casino to get mementos, including his Hall of Fame certificate, that he said were stolen from him. "It's stolen stuff that's mine, nobody was roughed up,'' Simpson said. However the police have said two firearms were seized during early morning searches before OJ's arrest. Simpson, 60, had said earlier that he had not involved the police in trying to recover his mementos because officers are often unresponsive to him after his acquittal for the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown-Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. "The police, since my trouble, have not worked out for me," the AP quoted him as saying. He said that whenever he does call the police, "it just becomes a story about OJ". Simpson was acquitted of the murder charges but found liable in a later civil trial.

These fellows who trade in sports memorabilia seem little better than petty crooks themselves. It was the perfect market for OJ to deal in. Too bad that all that stuff he was selling/trading had already been given to Fred Goldman by the California courts...eh?
First how is he going to have the time to search for the real murderers and the real robbers? Second, one of the things he took supposedly was his "lucky" suit the one he wore when he was aquitted. I hear Phil Specter was going to bid on that.
The Specter jury is still deadlocked 7-5 after one week of deliberations. I wonder where they found 5 people to vote "guilty" in Los Angeles?
