    So it was all over the radio this morning that Nuttball was taking the tapes of the game Saturday to the SEC office to whine that they were hosed in the last few minutes of the game.. (paging MCG, paging MCG).

    As one who watched the game, as soon as I heard this story I thought, 'what an idiot!' If you watched the game, you saw the PI call against Arkansas that may, or may not have been PI...

    You may also have seen the Arkansas MLB on the previous series HOG COLLAR the Bama WR...and that was a drive killing no call.... Does Nutt want them to appeal that?

    How about the Arkansas DE who ripped off Britt's helmet and then hit him in his exposed face with it?

    I mean...seriously, between this...and his outright lying over the whole deal with Mustain to just every damn thing else.... How is this guy this good of a coach?

    He's an idiot...

    <t>Bet your sweetcheeks that kid who got suspended for Arkansas was suspended as the result of Nutt going whining to the SEC office. <br/>
    <br/>
    He came looking to grand stand, and instead got one of his own players in more trouble.</t>

    The PI call could have gone either way.

    I didn't think it was a blatantly bad or biased call.

    Corey...

    <t>Correct on the call as I saw it to and the blind mice just missed it. No sympathy for Nutt at all. He better enjoy DM as those don't come along often.</t>

    I missed the part about a player being suspended. I know that the above quote was about a player that was ejected from the game. Is this the guy being refered to as suspended?

    If he isn't calling the SEC office, that kid isn't serving a full suspension...because Nutt wouldn't be talking to the SEC commissioner</r>

    … so it is just a one game suspension. I thought you were saying he was suspended from the team, as in GONE! That would be a little tough but depending on attitude, I could see that happening as well.

    What (the) Nutt is not saying is that there was an obvious PI penalty that was not called in the previous series. An Alabama receiver was running a crossing route and the defender pulled him away from the ball a full second before the ball arrived. An official was standing right there with his eyes fixated on the two players. That PI was NOT called.

    It is like I have tried to get across in these referee discussions. You can’t take one play and make a case. You are going to win some calls and lose some.

    Refs blew some calls on both sides and Smith (our left tackle) got called for holding twice in what turned out to be drive-killers. These were good calls, Smith was guilty but it seems to indicate that Alabama was not getting any preferential treatment. Also, although not always a good indicator of fairness, I think both teams ended up with 6 or 7 penalties and around 60 yards lost to penalties. By the way I think Mitchell just lost it in the heat of battle for a second. He had to be suspended but it didn't seem like a thug move or anything.
