Alabama dominates the 1st quarter. Arkansas flexes its muscles in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Alabama shows heart and drives for a field goal that closes the gap to 4 points. The Alabama faithful disagreed with the call for the FG but NS knows his business. Alabama holds on the next Arkansas series. Alabama marches down the field with the help of two pass interference calls on the same defender. TD Alabama puts Bama up by 3 to stay. Excellent game to watch when you had nothing riding on it.
I ran out of nitroglycerin <t>Alabama didn't really play all that well. We were able to capitalize on Arkansas errors but obviously we couldn' stop McFadden even though we sold out to try. What we did do was score touchdowns and show a lot of heart at the end of the game. Hey we're 3-0, we will probably be ranked this week for the first time in a while, and we have a real good recruiting class lined up. Life could be worse.</t>
A win is a win <t>Just look at Auburn, UCLA, Louisville. Are there more early upsets than normal or does it just seem that way?</t>
More than normal I would say. Great win for Bama but LSU looks like the SEC West shoo-in at the moment.
I tell ya <t>Alabama's true frosh MLB really impressed me. Arkansas developed a running game when they schemed around running away from him, or going jumbo with an unbalanced line, then trapping away from him.<br/> <br/> That kid will be a force to be reckoned with</t>
Wait a minute. On the Irish topics I was told that true freshmen lack experience and can't be counted on. I'm confused. 8)
Rolando McClain <t>Corey,<br/> It seems a lot to put on a Freshman to call the defensive signals and play MLB. Our defense lost a lot to graduation so this is definitely a year of on the job training. Also last night it seemed the Alabama defense was late breaking the huddle and would have been totally out of position if Arkansas had quick snapped it. I know they adjust alot as the offense approaches the line but several times we were still in the huddle.</t>
haha <t>George, <br/> <br/> Smartass. Its one thing when you feature a freakishly talented true freshman around older players (who also show heart, and leadership)... Its another when you are relying on the true freshman for those other things as well.<br/> <br/> KP,<br/> <br/> I think its you and LSU in the West. I'm not sure you can score on them, but I'm not too sure they can score on you either.</t>
KP, I agree--it was sweet to finally get a 4th qtr win like that, and the team showed a lot of heart at the end, but there is plenty to work on. A lost 21 point point lead and 28 unanswered points is not good. The D came through at the end (2nd wind?), but really looked gassed for a while. Give credit to DMc though, the guy is unbelieveable--thank goodness he was on the sideline at the end! Also, although a completion would have sealed it, I was surprised (and glad) that Nutt went with the pass on that last third down. That gave Bama a few extra seconds on the incomplete. Corey--right you are...the freshman Rolando McClain plays like he's been around a few years. I think he had about 8 tackles last night. Will the lights on the scoreboard burn out next week when Kentucky (Woodson) battles Ark (Dmc) next week?!? RTR!
" Nutt went with the pass on that last third down. That gave Bama a few extra seconds on the incomplete." Zookish like clock management by Nutt.
Two .... <t>Years from now when Saban gets all his guys in the SEC will dread a dose of that program week to week.</t>
