.312 48 Hrs 134 RBIs Tonight, just hours after getting an MRI for a twisted ankle, he hit two HRs.... in the same inning. In the process he certainly locked up the MVP award and probably a playoff berth for the Yankees. Last night he hit a HR so high up in the upper left field deck that 56,000 people briefly fell silent at once. What a dilemna the Yankees face at the end of the year. His contract , which Texas has paid half of so far, will be up for renewal but at what price? He is without question the best all around player in the game and will obliterate the all time record book before he's done. He passed, among others, Stan Musial, Lou Gehrig and Mel Ott in he last couple of months on the HR list. He sits tied with Ernie Banks and Eddie Matthews as I write this at 512. He's got an outside shot at Ted Williams and Willie McCovey before THIS season ends, his 13th. At the age of barely 32.
The first time he's hit 2 HR in one inning. It's a rare feat for sure, but somehow I don't think it will be the last.
Sure the man will hit 75 dingers 200RBIs and bat 375.....but... NO TEAM WILL EVER GRAB A RING WITH HIM! Its called THE CURSE OF PAYROD!!
The guy.. <t>Is flat out amazing and the good news is he will bump Baroids back out of the HR title where he should be when AR career is done.</t>
C'mon Joel. At this late stage of the steroids era, if word is just starting to trickle, it can't be anything other than jealousy-based gossip. Did you hear this in Red Sox country? Hmmmm.
Well then, Dr. Feinberg, can you explain how he reported to camp 15 lbs lighter than last year if he is on HGH?
Heard on WEEI radio..24 hour sports talk. Came from the mouth of a reputable talking head. Who knows if its true...but maybe it is.
Joser Canseco has stated that A-Rod is "not all that he seems" and that he will release information about it in the upcoming book he's been pimping. I think it's supposed to be out soon. I doubt Rodriguez has used any performance enhancers and I certainly hope not, because while I may not be an A-Rod fan, I don't want to see baseball's most hallowed records in the hands of cheaters and charlatans. He's the best bet to return the records to the real players.
Knowing your brilliant sense of humor, do I assume correctly that the spelling of his first name is intentional? LOL! Seriously, is he really coming out with another book?
He says he is, Sid. It's supposed to be titled "Vindicated". Here's a column from the village voice on the whole bag of crappola that Canseco has opened up just to generate some publicity.
Nice, fair article, Rick. A refreshing rarity in today's tabloid-oriented environment. The guy did his homework and put forth a respectable piece of journalism. Thanks.
