No, not the football program! I want to know one thing: Are the states of Alabama, Arkansas, and Louisiana bankrupt? Have they completely halted the repair of their interstate highways? I was completely pissed at Louisiana when we drove through there. However, I found out that the Louisiana roads were fairly smooth compared to I-59 from Birmingham to 15 miles North Gadsden. I had to slow down so slow that I would have made better time on US-11 hitting all of the small towns. Alabama... Fix your roads!!!!!!!
I can understand roads that take a beating yearly from the ice and snow. That stretch from Birmingham to Gadsden has not been touched since the early 60's when it was new. While other states have at least paved over the original concrete, Alabama has turned their backs on the public using this roadway for over 40 years.
bama roads <t>the interstates are terrible.<br/> <br/> interesting enough, a lot of the County or State routes are fine because they are always being re-paved over, at least in this neck of the woods.<br/> <br/> i remember driving back to AL once with my dad in the car. We crossed the state line at TN heading into Al on 65 north of Huntsville/Athens. We were driving late at night and my dad had one question: "Who turned out the lights?"<br/> <br/> Nowhere to be found are those reflective tiles that use the car's headlights to illuminate the road in front of you. Almost nowhere to be found are overhead lights to give you any sort of view of the sidelines (and deer) that may be lurking off the side of the road.</t>
