In an semi-related item. After discussion of the Indiana law that Clausen went afou of, it turns out that California has the same law.
TommyZ gets ready for the season. I envision Krebs summer being something similar as he readies his body for the upcomming season!! TommyZ
So, who is the starting QB for ND this weekend? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_blogs/football/ncaa/2007/08/weis-shows-true-colors-with-qb-decision.html
We'll all know at kickoff. The funny thing is that this has become a big thing, some writers are obsessing over it, acting like Charlie is denying them their birth right, that the kids involved will all be damaged. Gee this has only been done about a gazzillion times in sports...
Agreed, it's up to CW to disclose his choice for starter, whenever he so chooses. I think it's stuff like what Madel's written that's just stirring the pot in college sports. It really has no redeeming value .... other than to agitate ND fans, NTTAWWT.
Mr. Mandel is very fortunate, because as the nuns who taught Lou Holtz told him, the Lord watches over animals, small children and idiots.
Saban is doing the same thing <t>and it is driving people crazy. He says there is no depth chart, has closed practices and so people are making up their own.</t>
Stewie Mandie <t>guys who write articles like this expose a few things:<br/> <br/> -They never played sports, and more important, they've never coach a sport on a higher level. What CW is doing is classic coaching gamesmanship. Its something that coaches do everywhere, all the time. He is trying to make his opponent prepare for a little bit of everything. If anything, its a sign of respect for Jon Tenuta at GT and his defense...not disrespect for Stewie Mandie. See, coaches only have so much time in a day. College coaches especially are restricted in the amount of real practice time. If you make them waste one minute, one hour or even one day preparing for something they aren't going to see..you've gained an upper hand on some level and made the opposing coach mis-allocate his resources.<br/> <br/> While he states that Jon Tenuta's defense might be ready to handle whatever spread option they see out of ND...it just goes to show how little this guy knows about sports.. for example...<br/> <br/> throw a major league hitter a curve ball....with what percentage of success does he hit it??<br/> <br/> now, tell that hitter its coming....and with what percentage of sucess does he hit it?<br/> <br/> -This guy spent a lot of time with his underwear up his ass.<br/> <br/> -He shows that, despite his experience, he really doesn't 'get' sports...the entire concept is just missed by him.<br/> <br/> -Those Northwestern pricks are still pretty angry about the whole Ara thing.</t>
