This is pretty sweet for the Irish fans living in those states.

Yeah, this is really great. Right now, Comcast is not carrying the B10 Network, but in its place, I get the opportunity to watch Notre Dame 24/7.

Thanks for making my day, Terry.

Yeah, buy you won't have to pay anything extra for it. On the other hand, if the B10 network has its way it will be part of our standard package and the cost of basic will go up.
I guess having ND and not the B10 network you won't get to see Appalacian St.

BTN is asking $1.60 per subscriber from Comcast and Time Warner to carry the content of the network. That is very expensive and the major providers are saying it would increase their costs dramatically. In addition, the BTN wants the network carried on the basic package.

Only Direc TV has agreed to carry the network here in central Ohio. Currently demand is such that it is taking up to 10 days for installation.

Negotiations continue and I think some type of deal will be reached, but at a much lesser figure than what the BTN is asking.

Personally I am upset that local television will no longer be able to carry the broadcasts, as in past years.

    Terry,

Sorry for the late reply. As Don noted, Comcast and the BTN are engaged in a big game of chicken. Comcast had a similar battle with the NFL network a few years ago and pretty much got its way.

The big fight is over whether the BTN would be carried on the basic package or special tiered packages in the Midwest. The BTN is insisting it be part of of the basic package for all Midwest subscribers. So far, DTV and several smaller cable companies have agreed to this but Comcast shows no sign of budging from its position.

In Comcast's battle with the NFL, the NFL Network was initially put on the basic package but now has been moved to the added fee packages.

B10 games still will be shown on ABC's regional and national games along with ESPN 1 and 2.
