The New Orleans Saints have a new player suiting up for practice. A radio station in Austin Texas reported yesterday that this person had signed with them. I can only find documentation that he has suited up and is practicing as a wide out.

Anyone care to take a guess who this person is? He "played" at Tennessee during the Manning years.

    Jim Bob Cooter

    Not even close!

    Two problems with that:
    • #1) He is too slow for wide out.

#2) He came to Tennessee after the Manning years.

To have "played" at Tennessee during the Manning years, he must have been there in 1997, Peyton's last year. Jim Bob was still there last year. He did receive a red shirt year, but not 5 of them.

Didn't someone do something similar to this in Baseball? Someone like that worked out in spring training, but I can't remember who.

I thought that this would have been spread throughout the South by now. I really thought that Nashville would have made this public.

The person I have referred to in this topic never played FOOTBALL at Tennessee. He did however play... make that sing... in Neyland Stadium. Yes, SING! He sang the National Anthem before a game and sang at half time as well. He was and still is good friends with Peyton Manning.

The mystery person here is none other than, the one and only... Kenney Chesney!

Kenney Chesney works out with the New Orleans Saints

Well your question referred to a person who "played" at Neyland. That certainly implied a Tenn Football player. I cry FOUL!!

Sure enough, it was Garth Brooks who practiced with the Padres for a few days. Thought the idea sounded familiar. Must be nice to be rice & famous and have influential friends!
