Thought I would throw that disclaimer in for those that think I dig deep into the obscure blogs to promote all good things Florida. I couldn't resist today's lead article on SI.com not only because of the great pic of Tim Tebow but because it answers pretty well what is going on down in Gainesville this fall camp for those that have any questions like "how will UF throw the ball?" and "how will the defending champs replace those 9 lost starters on defense?'. After loading the main page you read the article by clicking on the "Tebowmania" link. Anyway...guys like Terry have had questions as described....these are the answers.....enjoy! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/specials/preview/2007/
I enjoyed the article. I liked the comment about Tebow and his passing ability. Because he was used primarily as a rusher last year people have forgotten he set a lot of state records for passing.
Bill, it's always been a telling stat that Tebow threw for over 9,000 yards in H/S. That 35 yd pass he threw in front of me to Murphy last year vs. LSU was a beauty and on the mark for example.
I thought the comments on the Big Ass Fans were interesting: http://bigassfans.com/ I look forward to this season and hope the many young guys play "beyond their years". I think UF has a shot at winning the SEC-East and maybe even the SECCG but it will be a challenge. Talk about the MNC in 2007 is too much for me ....... as I didn't expect it in 2006.
Talk about the MNC is only there to a small degree around Gator Nation right now and only because "who are we to say" they can't do it after three NCs in a row between BB and FB. These guys may be extra motivated because of "The Streak" and it could cause a greater than expected season sorta like when Terry Bowden managed to win 20 games in a row at Auburn. Some teams should have beaten Aub in that stretch ( like Florida in 1994 ) but those War Eagles didn't want to lose. UF may want to win 'em all and play USC but merely wanting to is quite short of actually getting there.
ESPN has their Pre-Season AA Team up, picked by Ivan Maisel. There are 4 USC guys, 2 Ohio State guys and 1 each from Michigan and Notre Dame....but no Gators. How can that be MCG??
Tommy Z! I hope he lives up to the hype. I would have thought it would be TE John Carlson or P Geoff Price.
I was surprised at the choice of Martillus Bennett of Texas A&M over John Carlson as the AA TE. For a lot of reasons, first of which is that Carlso will actually get the ball thrown to him this season....well that's also 2nd and 3rd!
ok you guys <r>cut it out, talk sports or it gets ugly<br/> <br/> <IMG src="http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m18/Vettura11/gifs/ihasashuvel6ep.jpg"><s></e></IMG></r>

Unless the two teams meet in the SEC Title game I think UF and UA are done for 4 years. We'll see if Saban sticks around that long...
Good read on Saban and the "state" of the state of Alabama football: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20220603/ Seems like KP is one of the more cooler heads with regard to Bama fans. I think the article rings true in that Saban is not guaranteed the success that Bama fans expect of him. 10-2 and playing in the CapOne Bowl would be pretty good in the next two years and probably acceptable but by year three there had better be an SEC title game on the resume IMHO.
