Interesting Sports Illustrated link comparing cheerleader uniforms from the 60 and 70s to the present. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0706/campus.cheer.thenandnow/content.8.html A couple of thoughts: 1. Did the 62 Mississippi Rebel cheerleaders carry muskets and march to Gettysburg? 2. Do you need any further confirmation just how buttoned down they are are in Columbus? They seem to be the only school whose uniforms became more conservative as time passed. 3. I would rank USC and Auburn 1 and 2 in the past and present rankings...
That '67 Husker cheerleader was definitely a farm girl! Most dramatic changes ...no doubt LSU and Kentucky.
I agree with all comments. USC's "song girls" have always been fabulous with never a down year... Ohio State does seem to be marching against the grain...don't they? I think those Ole Miss girls from '62 are cute in their uniforms. They make me want to march along... Who designed those old LSU cheer uni's? Huey Long? Nebraska's girl looks like somebody's mom...
Well fer one thing those Ol Miss girls are obviously marchers and not cheerleaders...note the boots they are wearing...they probably were part of the band show.
