Wow has this been a year of upsets in the Regionals:

#2 UCLA upset #1 Long Beach St.
#2 Cal St. Fullerton upset #1 San Diego
#2 Miss State upset #1 Florida State
#3 Okie State upset #1 Arkansas
#2 UC Irvine upset #1 Texas
    #3 Louisville upset #1 Missouri

I realize a lot of those #2's were probably considered for #1's, but 4 of the 8 national seeds have fallen!

With our current lack of pitching, the Aggies could easily join that list...

    and another

<t>Vandy is fighting for their life against Michigan. The 'Dores have run themselves out of two innings now and may be out of chances.<br/>
    <br/>
I think the heart of their order will get one more crack in the 9th. Vandy has won lots of late inning games, it looks like they will need one more.</t>

    Dores rally

<t>Vandy scores 2 in the bottom of the 8th, heading to the 9th. Vandy is considering bringing in their ace to pitch the 9th.</t>

    Vandy made the move

<t>that brought in their ace Price who registered strike outs 194 and 195 on the year to send the game to the bottom of the 9th tied at 3.</t>

    ...

<t>Michigan's SS has a terrible throwing error to start the bottom of the 9th.. after a sacrifice to move the runner to 2nd, a SPECTACULAR diving play by the 2nd baseman saved their arse....a linedrive out to CF ends the 9th.<br/>
    <br/>
heading to the 10th...Will Vandy use Price again?</t>

I was flipping around trying to find that on TV, but then I remembered where you are... No chance to get that game here, even on CSTV...

Sounds like it was a good one!

    Scott.

Nice win by the Aggies tonight. Will you host one of the Super Regionals?

Still can not believe Michigan beat Vandy.

    Thanks Don!

No... the bad news is we have to travel to play at Rice. The good news is it's only 90 miles away from College Station, and we've already beaten them twice this year.

I would prefer to have them at our place, but I'm not complaining with how this post season is going for us! 8)

    Scott...

<t>It will hot and miserable in the stands as I've sat through many games at Reckling. There should not be an empty seat in the place.<br/>
Good luck, Rice is real good. Pay attention to the kid Jarred Gayhart at Rice as I know him and the family well. The kid will be in the show someday.</t>

Looking at that list...isn't it shocking that UCLA and Texas A&M haven't done better in baseball over the decades? Both are located in areas where there's plenty of talent. Amazing...

    Dog..

<t>Agree. Scott can tell you they had a stagnant program there for to long because of their head coch but that is all changed now.<br/>
On UCLA I have never understood how they have been so average so long till now. That looks to of changed as well.</t>

Larry, I"m sure you know that Mark Johnson has landed at Sam Houston and seems to have energized their program. Maybe he just needed the kick out the door to reignite his career.

Here's a good article on the Ag's. I wonder if Scott had as much faith in Childress as Byrne did? :)

    Terry...

<t>I know all about MJ at Sam in fact also know one of his assistants very well. MJ will do fine there but its his on the field decisions that are his problem IMO and other Aggies I know. Coaching at Sam versus the Big 12 as you are are two different animals.<br/>
I watched the University of Houston beat the Aggies in a regional doubleheader a couple years ago at A&M and some of the things he did in those two games were like an open invitation to UH to come beat us and they did twice. IMO the Aggies have the right guy in place now irregardless of the matchup with Rice starting tomorrow.</t>
