Good article about the Hurricanes new Head Coach. He sounds like a winner and will probably have Miami back in contention quickly. I hear from Gator fans he is recruiting very well in the S. Florida area where so many great athletes have come from in the past. Meet Randy Shannon
Now Shannon, B.G.S. ’89, has entered the biggest coaching chapter of his young 41 years—head coach of his alma mater, a legendary program that, since 1983, has won more national championships (five), a higher percentage of its games, and produced more first-round NFL draft picks than any other Division I school. The Cane Dynasty is far from dead.....look at no one rushing to hire former coach Larry Coker who was 58-10 at Miami....why? because Shannon was the D coach and Butch Davis was the one that recruited all the talent that made Coker look good. A top five D in '07, 67returning lettermen, a lot of them just juniors, a trio of QBs with Robert Mavre, the star #1 QB recruit in the nation....things look good even with such a tough schedule. Look out Gators !!!.....in 'o8 we'll be running on all cylinders when we meet once more to plunder you again.
Gonz, the Gators are running on all cylinders already. The defense is young but by the end of next season should be competitive with anyone and really good by the time Miami comes to town in 2008. So that Miami can stay in the game I hope you are right about where they will be by that time!
 I like this guy Shannon too. I think he will have the Canes back sooner than later, maybe even this year; by next year for sure.
