    Scott,

    Thanks and congratulations on that big win today. I assume that was for the regional berth?

    Thanks Don!

    No, actually A&M had already been awarded the regional host on the strength of reaching the champ game, but I'll take the win for sure!

    It's nice to get on a roll at this time of year. 8)

    As a side note, the ladies softball team advanced to the women's CWS yesterday.

    <t>of the year (and you may want to pay attention to this because you dont hear this words often), in my not so humble opinion on the matter.... the #1 ranked team in the country and #1 seed coming into the Tourney should be the Vanderbilt Commodores.<br/>
    <br/>
    I'm a big believer in fast teams that play defense and rely on gritty, 'tough as nails' pitching (as opposed to the superstar #1 pick type)...and Vandy is just that. I was skeptical of their overall #1 ranking until their performance in the SEC Tourney. At this point in time, I'm sold. They should be the one seed for as long as they go on.</t>

    Northern Teams again will have to come south...sucks...the Big East Champ should have had a regional as well as the B10 champ.

    Corey,

    I thought Vandy was ranked #1 going into the weekend, but I could be wrong.

    If the Aggies get a decent draw in the regional, I actually like our chances against Rice in a super. For whatever reason, we've had their number this year.
    Against just about anyone else... I'd say we're toast.
    Our defense has been subpar, and after our first two starters our pitching gets pretty shaky.
    Not a good combo against elite competition.

    <t>You are correct. I guess my point was that I was a skeptic, although I appreciate their brand of baseball. In fact, its exactly the system that I not only believe in, but use myself.<br/>
    <br/>
    But being a fan of their system is one thing, believing they are#1 is another. Their trek thru the loser's bracket and two wins (especially the extra inning comeback miracle) vs Ole Miss sold me. Their dispatching of Arkansas in the title game just reinforced what I saw.</t>

    I am very pleased that we have advanced to the regionals. We lost our top two guys to injuries in our pitching rotation.

    We were a #6 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and ended up winning all four games. That is a first in conference play!

    It will become a lot more competitive here on out.

    Scott,

    We are scheduled to play in your regional against Louisiana Lafayette on Friday at 2:00 P.M.

    Take it easy on us if we are fortunate enough to meet you on your home turf.

    From what I hear, you guys got a tough first game. ULaLa is pretty salty, and I'm not thrilled to see them in College Station.

    I wish I could be there to report back, but work has me tied up and I can't get away.

    Hope the weather clears up, it's been making up for three years of drought in one month!!
