SMU/FSU has been a good game, some good offense and some good defense at times. 17-10 at the half, SMU leading.
I could not stay awake due to the power outage delay. Appears MSU was fortunate to win the game late with that field goal, but they were not very sharp either winning 27-24.
Probably off topic, but I am extremely glad the Gators did not get Kiffin as our coach. Very happy with Summrall at this point and expect him to work out well for us in the long run.

Leaders of the College Football Playoff on Tuesday agreed to open a 30-day negotiating window with ESPN, signaling their greatest interest yet in a 24-team CFP field that could begin as soon as 2027, sources told ESPN. While those within the room insist this is not a commitment to a 24-team field at this time, the move does indicate that the Big Ten and SEC now agree it's worth a discussion with the event's sole rights holder to see what the value of it would be.
I agree, but I want my team to have a chance, however small in a down year. If it's stuctured correctly, it could evolve into someyhing like basketball. The lowest seeded teams who never before couldn't have had a sniff will get a chance to compete. Unlike basketball, there likely wouldn't be shocking upsets, if any. Did I forget to mention that it probably would lead to a huge increase in revenue?
Seems to be the model that the FCS has settled on, I think they've had 24 for awhile now so we should be able to learn alot from their experiences. Some interesting results.....of the 22 finalists over the last 11 years, 15 were either #1 or #2. Only twice have teams outside of the top 16 made the finals and every champion in the last 11 years has been seeded in the top 4. I do like the prospect of more on campus games particularly in late November/early December which should be particulary welcoming to the north for all of our southern friends
Saturday night's game with Texas should be a good game, winner will have to be mistake free or pay the consequences. I look for a close game but either team could be surprised with a blowout? I just hope it will not be my buckeyes!
So early in the season to determine which team has the edge. Just on personnel I would go with Ohio State but like you said turnovers, injuries and/or penalties could tip the game one way or the other.
I honestly don't know what to think.....I'm happy to have an experienced QB/OL combination going into a hostile DKR. It's night game so I don't expect heat/humidity to be a material issue and I melted in the 90+ in Columbus last weekend so not something they haven't experienced. It sounds as if neither OL played well last weekend against what should have been overmatched competiton. Seems like much more of a must win situation for Sark/UT, at home, dropped the last two so if not now, when? sort of pressure. I think that actually favors us. Neither of these teams will be overwhelmed by the moment/atmosphere - both been there, done that sorta deal. No idea what Muschamp is gonna do but I don't see either team running the ball effectively. I'm guessing that Day/Smith have alot of confidence in Sayin and they're gonna not be afraid to push the ball downfield. Texas has focused on putting bodies on JJ and taking him out of the game but we had another 1st round draft pick Carnell Tate to take up the production. No doubt they will do the same this time, who steps up for us? Innis? McCuin? I just dunno....Shootout anybody?
Um Terry... have you ever been to Texas in early September? At 6pm, weather app says it'll be down to 97 degrees. By halftime down to 90. I hope your boys drink a LOT.
LOL...actually I have, it's hot-AF. The point is that it isn't anything they have not experienced of late. The practice week heat leading up to the home opener was 91, 93, 96, 97 in Columbus and training camp is filled with toasty/muggy days in the 90's as well, so the've been grinding through that just as recently as last week, I think they're gonna be OK. Now if this was late November/December and their bodies haven't been conditioned to that in months, perhaps it could be a factor. I just don't see it at this point in the season.....
