Old traditions are being wiped out Terry. It does make some sense if you examine the process. NIL is King now.
Yep, they're throwing alot of different things up on the wall to see what sticks. I understand and support the intent, to minimize distractions around the game as historically that week has had a ton heaped on it - senior tackle, band appreciation, etc - all taking some degree of focus off practice and pre-game prep. That said, some of them hopefully won't stick, they did get rid of that silly song by a band nobody ever hear of before the game thankfully and I like the pre-game victory bell honorees. Kudos to Day/Bjork for always seeking ways to improve tho
I tend to agree BuckeyeT, with most of what you said, time will tell, but I anticipate a lot of fans not agreeing with moving seniors day up at the beginning of the season. Old way of doing things is not so easily accepted.
Buckeyes are picked number 1 in AP poll. No great surprise but strange things occur in early games. I do not think we will lose to Ball State, but Texas may be another animal.
Schedule is brutal so I expect them to stumble once or twice along the way. That said, if they manage to find their way into the playoffs, I think those tests and that experience much improves their chances for a deep run. I like this team alot, they could well be 10-2 in late November and the pitchfork crowd is out of control again yet be much better prepared to play for a championship than last year
Camp is officially over and team leadership announcements made....Inniss was the odds on favorite and much deserved. Not a fan of 7 captains but the team votes on them and I'm not sure who I would leave out if pressed. Hearing alot of noise about a reshuffled OL, a true freshman starting in the secondary and RB1A and 1B. Still alot of uncertainty who lines up on the outside opposite JJ. It's football season fellas! https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio...andon-inniss-receives-block-o-jersey-for-2026 https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio...ight-ohio-states-group-of-7-captains-for-2026
I am like you Terry but it has been that number of captains in recent years. Looking forward to another football season.
Notre Dame has multiple captains, not 7, around 4. IMO it's a good thing to have 7 team members capable of leadership in the opinion of their teammates.
