Irish women's soccer had a preseason friendly with Northwestern and won 1-0. Doesn't mean much as both teams played a lot of players even freshmen to get everybody game experience.

Irish Football continues fall camp, no big news coming out of fall camp. Hopefully we get through the camp without losing anybody to injury. There is of course no QB battle as CJ Carr will be the starter, but there is a battle to see who backs him up and none of those guys have any experience in college football.

The 5 year eligibility will have a big impact on everybody, not just the Irish. Teams won't have to "manage" their freshman to preserve a red shirt year. In fact I would imagine the term Red Shirt Freshman, etc will leave our lexicon.

Good for him, too many players end up broke because of their lifestyle choices. While I won't root for the Arizona Cardinals, but I will root for him to have a great year and career. Truly a special young man.

Ditto, Terry. I won't root for his team but I will root for him.

Lotta pre-season hype for the Irish going into the upcoming season which makes me nervous. I’m in the show me mode right now.

Tim, I'm just like you. I'm always nervous before the seaso. The greater the hype, the more nervous I am.

    Here we go already:
On Wednesday, the Notre Dame football communications team announced two injuries that occurred to players during preseason practice.

Sophomore offensive lineman Matty Augustine suffered a right foot, fifth metatarsal injury, and freshman cornerback Chaz Smith injured his right wrist, scaphoid.

What's impressed me is the depth we've had the past couple of years. We played the championship game a couple of years ago with 2 or 3 backups on the O line.

Agree gipper, and that's one thing that this staff has done and that is to build up depth, esp on the lines so that next man up is a real option.

Terry it seems to me that ND hasn't been losing as many kids in the portal as a lot of other schools. Kids that don't start sometimes decide to stay for their degree. We have seen a number transfer after getting their degrees.

Some things and PEOPLE never seem to change. Colin Cowherd seems to be one of those people. His USC and West Coast bias is always on display. Now he claims that ND came crawling back to USC to resume the series again. This after he said a year or so ago that USC shouldn't play this game because they(USC) already have a tough enough schedule as is. Nevermind that the Irish have been kicking the Trojans butt on a regular basis over the last 10 years. ND won't and shouldn't be dictated as to when this game is played, as it should be. Just becuase he thinks we should play this game in week zero doesn't mean is best thing for ND. Bottom line is he hates ND and will always find a reason to make unrational statements against ND and he is afraid to see USC lose to the Irish again.

Cowherd is like Finebaum. He has to be controversial to stay alive professionally.
