Eve Long, the No. 5 recruit and the top forward in the 2027 SC Next Super 60, on Wednesday committed to Notre Dame, giving coach Niele Ivey her first pledge in the class.
Long chose the Fighting Irish over UCLA, Duke, UConn and Kansas after taking official visits to each campus. She is the third 2027 five-star to come off the board after No. 3 Caroline Bradley (LSU) and No. 13 Ogechi Okeke (Baylor) committed in April.

"Notre Dame felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus," Long told ESPN. "The campus life, strong academics, faith-centered environment and genuine connections with the team made it clear this was where I'm meant to be."

We have a bunch of freshmen next year and one 1st year who couldn't play in 2025-2026 due to recovering frm injruy. So we'll be very young to say the least but if these young players can develop and more importantly not hit the portal!! Future is bright.

After taking a 3-0 lead the Irish gave up 11 straight goals in the second quarter. My sister has had better periods than that. Mauled by the Tigers.

After accumulating 52 scholarship offers, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic class of 2027 EDGE Jackson Vaughn has made his choice. The four-star prospect announced his commitment to Notre Dame on May 26, picking Marcus Freeman’s program over Auburn, LSU, Miami and South Carolina.

    Nice!

    Recruiting is going well.

In other news Steve Sarkesian is unwilling to comit that Texas will honor its home/home series with ND . He feels that playing and losing a close game on the road vs Ohio State cost the Lo ghorns the CFP.

If you don't make a 24 team playoff you aren't a big time program. You wonder what the impression players get when their coaches like Riley and Sark display a lack of courage in scheduling. It shows lack of confidence in their team and taking the easy way out. True leaders of men.

We didn't win the Natty, but Todd Lyght's son won the equivalent of the Lacrosse Heisman.

WASHINGTON – Shawn Lyght made history on Thursday evening, becoming the first defenseman in history to win the Tewaaraton Award, which is presented to the top college lacrosse player in the country each year.

The junior is just the second Tewaaraton winner in program history, joining Pat Kavanagh who took home the honor in 2024.

The winner was announced in Washington, D.C., at the annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on Thursday, May 28 at the historic Andrew Mellon Auditorium.

LOL...Joey McGuire wants to play the Irish if the Longhorns back out. ....trying to do us a solid!!

Earlier this month, Longhorns AD Chris Del Conte made comments that sounded suspiciously like he planned to back out of the scheduling agreement with the Irish, set to start in 2028. Should that happen, the Golden Domers could be in a spot of trouble, considering the rest of their schedule beyond Texas is not all that difficult. However, when McGuire stepped into the breach, he might have offered a solution while also shaming his in-state rivals in a way that might get them to stick to the original plan.

After hearing that Texas might back out of its series against Notre Dame, McGuire offered to step in and have Texas Tech play the Irish. Just how serious that comment was is certainly an open question. Especially since McGuire is clearly trying to get under the Longhorns' and head coach Steve Sarkisian's skin.

"I saw a comment by [Del Conte] that he's not sure if Texas is going to play Notre Dame in '28 and '29. We need a '28 and '29 game too because Mississippi State back out on us, so we'll take that game if they want to get out of it. If Texas doesn't want to play Notre Dame, we would love to play Notre Dame in '28, '29."
