Interesting read on Joakim Noah. I can only observe that if he thinks this year has been tough, wait till he's a #1 draft pick of some NBA franchise, gets a ton of money AND has to play 82 games instead of 35 or 40. Then toss on if he's not LaBron James right out of the box. Life can be tough as a young mulitmillionaire in the NBA.

Noah can be a decent player on a good NBA team. BUt on a poor team he'll struggle.

I don't get it...the kid stays...has another great year...gets them back into the final four and who knows how much farther...

And he's been catching grief 'cause he didn't live up to somebody's expectations???? :(

Jo Noah's a different character and has been given a load of squat because of it. Propbably the most ironic behavior towards Noah has been the fat, slack-jawed, pink-faced, red-neck (white trash) SEC fans who've been calling him "ugly". What the heck?!

Well he is an odd looking duck to say the least, and it's not necessarily going to get better for him. NBA fans are just as cruel/loud/obnoxious as any SEC fan ever thought of being, but he will get paid to absorb the abuse.

Funny thing is, Jo Noah's "looks" are really no more "unusual" than most of the folks playing and coaching men's and women's college basketball.

You're kidding right? Noah is one of the 5 oddest looking players in the NCAA. Between the hair and a face that is just out of proportion he's really odd looking. I really can't think of 4 other players who even are close to him in terms of odd looks.

Such a discussion would be much too subjective to be meaningful. But if you need to find other folks who are as "unique looking" as Jo Noah, you can start here:

    http://und.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/nd-m-baskbl-mtt.html

Beyond that, you've UCLA's Mata, OSU's Ogden, Oregon's Kent and Luenen, UT's Summitt, Duke's Coach K, UNC's Roy Williams ... who some say looks like Deputy Dog.

Mata is by far the most "unique" looking player in college BB. No one else is even close.

I do stand corrected. Matta is very odd. But Oden just looks 35 not odd. But I would agree it's subjective for sure.
