For all of you Karl Rove....GWB.....Dick Cheney.....Rush Limbaugh....Jerry Falwell...blind believers...Religious Right Kool Aid addicts out there answer me this:

I flew on a plane sitting next to a 25 year old 3 time participant in the Iraq theatre who was a new father for the first time...home on a 10 day leave for the birth of that little girl and he was headed back to the 82nd Airborne in Iraq a few days later.

Question: He gets blown to bits...Is it STILL worth it?

Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.

Long, long ago and far, far away...
When the Democratic Party actually stood for something...

    Here's some more JFK quotes:

"A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality."

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

I take it then by your answers that this kid loses his life and his baby girl never gets to know him that the cause......the strategy....the philosophy...the politics.. and the war room decisions are all A-OK with you guys and it would be worth it.

Fair enough....I asked....you answered....and the Kool Aid party continues.

What I will say is this, it seems when someone has a different point of view from you they are blind believers.

    Give me a break.

See, we could try to respect each others opinions and have a discussion...we could try to look at the flip side of the coin you present by asking if it is worth it if it just might save the lives and freedoms of little girls like his...and their children, and their children's children...is it accomplishing that? I don't know...

But you are not interested in our opinions...if you were you would not start all your posts out with insults and by being derogatory to us...before your rhetorical question is even answered.

This from a guy who professes to "just pose questions" and then blames others for "name calling"...

These guys will never admit Bush made a big mistake. How none of them didn't see this coming is beyond me. Didn't they think of the consequences? I never once believed the U.S. would be greeted with hugs and kisses like Chaney said. I don't think I could allow my son to clean up Bush's mistake. His life means more to me than Bush's goal. I have a Cousin that still has no teeth in his bottom jaw from having them blown out of his mouth. All for what?

I watched 60 minutes a few weeks back. They showed what it was like at the Iraq border. A line 5000 deep to leave Iraq in to Syria, No line to enter into Iraq. That tells me something.

TB....it's you and I against the world here and has been for a long time and it won't change either.

"For all of you Karl Rove....GWB.....Dick Cheney.....Rush Limbaugh....Jerry Falwell...blind believers...Religious Right Kool Aid addicts out there answer me this:"

This may seem inflamatory but is it name-calling?

None of you...or most of you fit the category described?

None are a fan of any of the above?

Maybe the "blind believer" part is overboard so for that specific comment I apologize.

I also apologize for those who feel they do not belong in a group that supports the above mentioned or who are offended I would arbitrarily place them in that group.

I will never...ever apologize for holding strong to my own beliefs and opinions however.

The story I recited about my plane trip seatmate is completely true and it inspired me to start a topic in the Backroom when for the last few weeks maybe months (only the 3rd post this year) I have decided it's not worth it to do so and my opinions are too outnumbered here requiring too much energy to defend.

    Back to retreat now.

YOU AND ME AGAINST THE WORLD

You and me against the world,
Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world,
When all the others turn their backs and walked away,
You can count on me to stay.

Remember when the circus came to town
How you were frightened by the clown,
Wasn't it nice to be around someone that you knew,
Someone who was big and strong and looking out for

You and me against the world,
Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world
And for all the times we've cried I always felt that
    God was on our side.

And when one of us is gone,
And one of us is left to carry on,
Then remembering will have to do,
Our memories alone will get us through
Think about the days of me and you,
Of you and me against the world.

OK, "Religious Right Kool-Aid Lover's" isn't name calling...it's just insulting and a putdown.

Hey, we're all big boys here and our sensitivities ought to be able to handle a little flaming. Nobody needs any apologies. Nor has anyone asked you to apologize for your beliefs, many of which probably more of us share than you realize.

I'm just trying to suggest that if you are trying to initiate a legitimate discussion (which you are ALWAYS claiming is your only purpose for posting), then it might be more effective if you start it out without the inflammatory insults.

Answer: Nope. Let's just wait until the young man is on vacation with his family, let's say in... Chicago, and he's at the Sears building when another Terrorist attack happens. That's much better right?

You see, WE have to kill them all before they kill us.

I'm at a loss here HH. I just bought one a few days ago. Were you talking about a different "one of these"? I still have a Springfield on order. It is a very concealable .45 as well. It is still on a 90 day back order.

    funny

<t>so i am sitting here at work....in the breakroom with my pal Jeff from work. I'm showing him this site because I'm giving him the rundown of great reads on the internet. He's going back to Iraq (tour 3) later this month and I am trying to pull him from this terrible Auburn shell he's been living with.<br/>
    <br/>
So anyway, he's laughing at MCG and Tailback. Im turning around and lecturing him on 'tolerance' and 'respecting other's opinions' if he's ever going to try this site instead of just reading it.<br/>
    <br/>
Then he reminded me of the irony of that. We laughed even harder. Why is it when these men come home, their testimonials are discounted unless they criticize the war or President? Why are you spending so much time watching someone else's bobber instead of your own?<br/>
    <br/>
While you're busy coloring with your big broad crayon of justice.. We're going to sneak into the IT Dept and sabotage their World of Warcraft characters. Those guys are wound a little too tight as well.</t>
