100-56 worst home loss since 1898. Worst home loss in the Joyce Center, previously it was 39 point loss to Kentucky in the late 90's.

I don't know where the program can go from here.

It hurts to agree, but like you I don’t know how they turn this around.

Pat Garrity has a tough job with the men's program to get it back to where we were in the hey dday of the Big East. Does he have the NIL and backing that he needs, can he fairly evaluate the coach and his staff as to what their potential is gong forward.

If he decides to go a different way do he and the AD have a plan to make a Dusty May type of hire?

One of the topics being kicked around, is whether or not ND is going to try and compete at the highest level in sports other than Football. Men's and Women's Basketball are expensive to lure the top athletes, surprising to me is that apparently Hockey is also an expensive sport to get top players.

I wonder what the costs to compete at the highest level are in Women's Soccer and Men's lacrosse both programs who currently do compete at the highest level.

Thanks Sid, That's a tough take from Noie, but one that rings true. This off season will be interesting to see what the AD/Pat Garrity do to some how revive the once proud ND basketball program

I like Coach Shrews. He's from Indianapolis, as is his wife. Went to schools a couple of my grandkids attended. He recruited 5* Jalan Haralson. But we should be way more competitive than we've been. A tough situation for sure.

Senior Night for Ladies Basketball vs a very good Syracuse team. Here's hoping the seniors get the win!

Ladies got a solid win over Syracuse who has a really good team and it was as I said on Sr. Night. Team was lead of course by Hidalgo. She's at the very least one of the Nations best players.

Got a chance to read that article Sid. The thrust I think is that ND doesn't seem to care about the basketball program. I assume that the athletic dept. has limited sources to allot to player aquisition and has decided to use most on the football program. Fair enough. If they don't care, why should we? Sports is supposed to be entertainment. Our basketball team is not and has not been entertaining for some time.

Beleaguered Irish Men face a very good NC State team at home today. I'm afraid to watch. It seems like our only hope is that NC State comes in very over confident and the Irish somehow find the moxie to take advantage of that. If not I expect another frustrating loss

WOW...good thing I didn't take my own advice. I watched the game and it was an awesome win for the Irish over a very good NC State team. Cole Certa went for 32 and Jalen Haralson went for 25 in only 28 minutes as this was his first game back from ankle problems, missed 2 weeks. Irish got down quickly 11-2 and it looked like they were gong to run us out of the gym. But the team never quit and out scored them 79 - 70 and it was 81-81 at the end. We dominated OT and won 96-90.

This was a much needed win, doesn't erase all the frustrations of the season, but gives us a shot of getting into the ACC Tournament.

Terry, I'm embarrassed to admit that I stopped watching early in the game when we were down and couldn't bear yet another loss. Shame on me. I was encouraged by Haralson being back, but I felt it was more of the same. I won't make that mistake again......unless it can be proven that I was a jinx and the team got much better when I wan't watching.

What have we here, a sweep on Sr. Nights? Irish women's basketball beat Syracuse on Sr. Night, Irish men's basketball pulled a big upset of NC State on Sr. Night and now Irish men's Hockey beat #5 Penn State on Sr. Night!!! That's a trifecta! :p

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Fighting Irish hockey team of Notre Dame closed out their final homestand of the regular season with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over the fifth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions in front of a sold out crowd for senior night.

Don't really follow Hockey, but apparently there is some hope for the program as they finished maybe Strong is a bit over the top but played much better the last month according to what I read. This is from somebody who follows ND Hockey

They know their season has been awful, but they kept at it last night and tonight, up, or tied, and tried to pot another goal. Too many blown leads on the weekend for my taste, but PSU is vastly more talented than Notre Dame. That they finished with a tie and a win against a very good team still playing for positioning (they lost out on a chance to finish 1st last night), and that was nice to see. 3-4-4 in our last 11 games. On January 23rd I might have thought that number would have been more like 0-10-1.

Great weekend for the Irish women who went to Louisville and beat the Cards, who have had the best season in the ACC, and had they beaten us would be ACC Champions. But it was another edition of the Hannah Hidalgo show, 30 points, 10 rebs, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and she refused to let the Irish lose to them.

Louisville is the women's team in the ACC that I dislike the most. I dislike Jeff Walz a lot.
