FSU has a very good golf program asa well. His older sister, Samanta, is a freshman at Stanford but I believe she is not an athlete. Charlie no doubt has big time plans to play the PGA tour and as AJ noterd Tiger will be close by as well at FSU.
We have Pebble Beach weather today and it won't be better on Sunday. Bhatia is playing really well and is currently in the lead. Rickie Fowler is also playing very well and it 3 shots off the lead. Scottie is going to have to do some magic to keep his steak of top 10's going, he's currently 4 shots back of getting to the top 10. Top 25 might be where he finishes. For some reason some "X" fans have been on Bhatia for cheating with his long putter and claim there is video of him anchoring the putter. He claims it's just his hand/shaft touching his shirt which is legal. I wonder why they didn't just go ahead on outlaw the long putter completely. All other clubs are subject to maximum lenght.
Bhatia came back to earth after a terrific front 9 but still a 2 stroke lead. The finish was wild with the final group taking seemingly half hour to putt out due to the winds effect on the ball at rest. Should be interesting tomorrow if the weather is worse..
Well color me embarrassed, I doubted Scottie. He's had a great round so far and is solidly in the top 10 , right now Top 5 and not impossible that he could win it. Bhatia still going backward.
Scottie ended up -20 to Colin Morikawa's -22 and 2 guys at -21. Heck of a finish given his bad first round. Congrats though to Colin who hasn't won in quite awhile, good guy and a great player.
Riviera Country Club! Awesome venu. #10 a delicious and tempting risk/reward tee shot. Fun fact Nicklaus, Tiger, Rory, and Scottie have a combined ZERO wins! Rory off to a good start and is currently in a tie for the lead at -4 on the front 9.
Rory finished tied for the lead at -5 Scottie continues to play poorly in opening rounds , he's +4 after 9.
A guy named Penge is currently leading at -10, never heard of him. Rory is 1 back and 3 guys 2 back including Xander. Scottie is very iffy to make the cut.
Looks like Scottie is going to make the cut, he's inside the top 50 and Ties and right on the number which is E. Penge has upped his lead to 2 shots at -11. They say he has incredible power off the tee, 190mph ball speed. That some serious ball speed.
At the moment Bridgeman is running away with the tournament, leads by 6 shots over Rory and Kitayama. Scottie is making a charge as he's been doing lately after a terrible start. He's got a shot at finishing in the top 10.
Bridgeman held on, made it interesting in the end. Had to make 3 footer for par to win by 1 over Rory who along with Kitayama were a stroke back and had great rounds. Adam Scott played very well and was only 2 shots back.
