I not only get his sentiment, but I appreciate it. This is the sentiment that would keep me watching college football. Like I've said before, Saban is still associated with the University of Alabama and has a history of honestly advising Alabama players on the advisability of leaving early or not. Simpson's dad is a college head football coach. I have to believe that Ty Simpson has consulted with them and made an informed decision. I'm assuming he thinks he will go in the first round. If he does, then another year wouldn't have helped him. If he doesn't, then you may be right.

To answer your question, it appears that Austin Mack has the inside track but hopefully, the competition will be wide open.

    From Urban Meyer about Indiana:
“an absolute case study on how to maximize a player and maximize a team,” adding that in his nearly 20 years as a head coach, he never had a team reach this level of maximization.

“I’m embarrassed. Not like this team,” Meyer said of maximizing his teams’ potential. “This team is you’re witnessing... I hear the greatest team in college football history potentially.”

Quite a statement. Finebaum should get a lot mileage out of it.
