I’ll throw in an additional thought process that’s already been mentioned, the Saban staff alumni is a tribute to his skill and to those who recognized it for what it meant. He has shared and they each have carried it with them.

How amazing is it that the final four have his fingertips all over. I wish everyone the best, even AJ, LOL. And hey as I’m a Catholic now it’s just kinda fun, all these years later. I don’t have any pretense of what is going to happen but at the end of the day it’s all good.

Wishing you nothing but the best

There he is!....Welcome back and congratulations! I would not have posted about my run-in with those pretty annoying Cane kids had I known you were lurking. Every school (including us, maybe more so than most) has bad fans and good fans. You are one of the good ones. Nice to hear from you.

Terry's post made me think about Purdue's basketball teams in recent years in terms of lack of transfers out (we did have a couple last year), retention of players for 4 full years, and recruitment of graduates of other programs with eligibility left.

Don even though we won the other night I thought about you and felt bad for your loss. Well for about 2.2 seconds at least ;)

Lol, I’m just one of the older fans these days, no worries. I make it a point not to associate with meat head fans. The game against Ohio st was our biggest victory in 23 years so we really don’t have any reason to brag or be cocky with that long run of failure

Welcome back, Ralph. Welcome also to Catholicism. I'm a Catholic who believes that God doesn't care what religion you belong to. He just wants good people in heaven. When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, the nuns had me believing there were two kinds of people, Catholics and publics. The Catholics went to heaven and the publics didn't have a chance. Needless to say, my eyes were opened as I grew older. Sorry for the brief thread hijack.

What is he saying? That IU's roster is loaded with older players, thus giving it an advantage? I counted roughly 26 players on a roster of 100 labeled as Sr., R-Sr., or G. I then went to the two-deep rosters for offense and defense as of Jan.1, 2026. On offense there were 8 players listed as Sr. or R-Sr., 4 starters. On defense, there were 6 players listed as Sr. or R-Sr., 4 starters. That's 14 of the top 44 players. It certainly doesn't make IU look "old". How is that the "oldest lineup in the sport"? Also, how in the world is HS recruiting becoming irrelevant? It never has and never will. That's a preposterous supposition. To discuss the impact of the portal on a team's success is a whole different conversation. What the writer fails to consider - IMO a huge omission - is a combination of the quality of the coaching, the character of the players, the team leadership, and, of course, the overall talent of the roster.

Each of the 4 teams in the two semifinal games is fully capable of winning it all, no question. IU may or may not win it all. Heck, they may not even get by Oregon. Also, there's no question IU wouldn't be where it is today without the portal. No one is saying they would. But if you're you're going to make claims like that writer has done, back it up with facts, not fictional gibberish.

I don't think you fellas appreciate the rarity my buddy Ralph actually represents.
He's not a Cane fan... he's an actual alum.
I suspect most of our negative interactions with Miami "fans" is due to the t-shirt folks (who are bad for just about all schools) and not those with actual skin in the game.

If we don't get an OL, we're gonna get him hurt also.

He's pretty elusive, so there's that... But I wonder if he knows that about the OL? Or maybe as a part of his compensation there is a huge disability policy!!
