Jesus… our defense has transformed Manning into Vince Young.

Wink Martindale’s choice of gear while coaching in the Citrus Bowl is reflective of the professionalism of the Moore era.

Disappointing game, but Miami certainly deserved the win.

Much credit to Cristobal, his staff and players. They were very well prepared, had a great plan and the personnel to attack the weak points on the offensive front and create havoc in the backfield and get after Sayin. Late in the 2nd qtr we completely abandoned the zone run game, swapped out 3 RG before finally getting some traction running more gap schemes and providing a credible play action threat to be able to get the ball downfield. As Day has pointed out all year, "the issues are always there" and the deeper you go into the season you either get them corrected or they will be exposed and attacked by the teams with the staff and personnel to take advantage. It's been no secret all year that our OL was the weak link, uncertain if they were championship caliber and that question was answered in back to back games.

Def something to be said for the downside of the teams with a bye week. It seems they are 0-5 in the new CFP era. Hard to simulate the intensity and physicality of a play off game on the practice field without putting your kids at risk. Tough balance there, while we did benefit by having an extra week to heal up some nicks and bruises, it was clear we didn't get our game footing until well into the 2nd qtr.

No "bad Beck" moments in this game. He played well and when pressured, made good use of his legs to get key first downs and was very effective in the quick pass game. Completely unexpected by me and seemingly our staff as we rarely seemed to "spy" him as we would typically do for a QB with a running threat, hats off to him. Key first downs were critical late when we had recaptured the momentum allowing them to finish down the stretch. Well done young man

Not to forget credit to Fletcher. Looked great against Aggies and again last night.

Ty Simpson is going to the draft. I’m not sure how that will go but I will say I hope he is not the last guy to sit on the bench for 3 or 4 years at the same school, and be rewarded with success for it.

Ty Simpson, IMHO, really needs another year of playing at the College level before heading off to the NFL.

You may be right, but I’m hoping he talked to Saban and his Dad , who is the head coach at University of Tennessee Martin and is making an informed decision.

The world and college sports is getting harder to understand. Indiana football looking to win the title and Nebraska basketball in the Top Ten. Nebraska basketball is the third fav sport there behind football and lady's volleyball.

Actually it's been 4th for a long time, right behind women's bowling. But they are garnering attention! :D

It sounds funny but I’m hesitant to laugh. Some find women’s bowling an exciting sport.

The Lady Huskers have won 11 national championships in bowling! And they dress a lot better than the bowlers I grew up with.

Beck may have played his best game with UM, nothing noteworthy to amaze the media but the players mentioned he was in a zone to play smash mouth with runs. I’m far beyond any expert but Ohio State is an incredible talent of a team.
Tomorrow’s meet with Old Miss will be what it will be, their QB brings another dimension that’s difficult to quantify.
Scott and I talk about what evidently is the semi pro league that college football has become. It’s disheartening to be honest, maybe it’s time, I don’t know. But per Beck, who got paid $4.3 mil I guess is worth it if you get to the final 4. But what was lost in the innocence of what college football was. I guess I’m old school, and it hurts even though the old team I’ve pulled for is a bought team.

If he's making $4.3M, why would he ever want to leave the college game? Maybe he needs to get Pavia's lawyer.;)

The money annoys me on many levels (I PAID for a kid to go to school, so I know very well that those scholarships are worth a LOT and the players ARE being compensated without a check) but I think the fact that the players have little to no loyalty to the schools, and the fact that rosters are completely different one year to the next killed the "fun" of college ball for me.
