49-20 and it was to me an unsatisfying win given how we played in the 2nd half. I fear that might be the data point the give the committee the reason to leave us out of the playoff.
Terry, I didn't make it past the first half but felt comfortable going to bed with the score 35-3. I'll watch the recording of the 2nd half today. Regarding the announcers, I agree with you just based on what I heard in the first half. I'll be interested in listening to their 2nd half performance.
I give Stanford credit, they didn't mail it in in the secind half. Their last TD led by Rick Mirer's son was Rudyesque. So now we wait wondering if our season ended on a botched extra point snap. There were a lot of games which could have helped our cause yesterday and not one came out favorably. So now we see if winning a second rate conference trumps an impressive season ending winning streak.
I agree. The fact that a 7-5 Duke team could even be mentioned is ridiculous. I know they won’t make it but they shouldn’t even in the discussion. It is just the symptom of a screwed up system.
Watched the 2nd half. I agree that the announcers were terrible. I was tired of hearing about the playoffs. I'm guessing they were told via their headphones to try to hold onto the TV viewers by focusing on the playoff drama. They rode that horse until it keeled over and died and just kept on talking. Mirer's son is 6'6".
It's a simple fix. Let the league champ in as long as they're rated in the top ?? (25? 30?) If an upset eliminates a conference, so be it. I agree that to allow a 5-loss team in is ridiculous and should never happen.
