Not sure I've seen a start like this.. Syracuse receives the kick, good run back, stuff, then pick 6 . 7-0 Irish Syracuse receives the kick, bad run back, stuff, stuff, incomp, punt, blocked, picked up and TD 14-0 Irish. This could get ugly!
OK Syracuse changes QB's and it's still 3 and out and they get the punt off. Irish Offense!! 1st play 11 yds pass 1st down, 2nd play 45 yd TD run by Love 28-0 Irish.
'Cuse 3 and out, punt. Irish, 2 plays 1st down, then Price to the House for 58 yd TD run 35-0 Irish. Still 1st qtr.
Down 49-0, the Syracuse coach tries a 48 yd FG at the end of the half rather than go for it on 4th down. I guess that's analytics. His kicker hit the upright! I predict a much different 2nd half as the Irish start playing backups. I'll bet we don't score 21 points and don't shut them out.
Well they finally got a score, I was hoping for a shutout. 70-7 To Bobs point Time of Possession Syracuse 42 min ND 18 minutes. Not going to see that very often that's for sure.
I’m shipboard somewhere between Bimminy and Ft. Lauderdale. Was able to stream game on Peacock. Boy Syracuse looked so pathetic. Glad so many kids got to play. Am I the only one who’s tired of shots of Carr sitting on the bench with headphones on?
Well just when you think you’ve seen everything from Notre Dame football for as many years as I’ve watched them, I never thought I would see a game like that! Amazing, just absolutely amazing! At one point I was thinking just hand the ball to J.Love, he’ll score. I’ve seen a lot of very good running backs over all those years too but he has to be among the top 3. ND is lucky to have this young man.
By the way, the game next Saturday against Stanford starts way too late. Even in my time zone it starts at 8:30! I’m normally in bed at that time!! Yes, I’m old.
One of our top LB's, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa Suffered a season ending knee injury in the Syracuse game. While we have good depth at LB none of them have the skill set of KVA. He will be missed. Irish are #9 in the AP poll, no surprise as the only movement was Oregon jumping both Texas Tech and OU.
