Iriish at #10 is about as good as I hoped for in the first ranking.

    These comments by Mack Rhodes.

"I think it starts with two losses, total of 4 points against two very, very good teams,” CFP Committee Chair Mack Rhoades said. “One of them ranked third in the country and one ranked 18th.

"When we look at the tape, we think Notre Dame's a really solid football team, both sides of the ball."

Notre Dame’s win over No. 19 USC also has a chance to improve its resume if the Trojans can continue winning down the stretch.

Coming in right behind the Irish at No. 11 is Texas and Oklahoma sits at No. 12. This is important because a Group of 5 team will take that No. 12 spot and the ACC champion will take the No. 11 slot, meaning the cutoff line will be 10.

As of publication, Notre Dame will have a chance to earn another ranked win in two weeks when it takes on No. 24 Pitt.

Irish have inked a deal with Auburn for a home/home in 2027 and 2028. 2027 at ND and 2028 at Auburn. We've never played in football.

Irish women take care of business tonight vs Farleigh Dickinson.98-52 with Hannah Hidalgo the leading scorer as usual, 27 points.

Irish Ladies beat Duke in the ACC Semifinal 2-1 with a late goal in the final minutes of the match. The goals came from their scorer's ACC Player of the Year, Izzy Engle and her partner in crime (goals) Anabelle Chukwu. Go irish!! Face the winner of Stanford/UVa for the Championship.

As with most teams at this point of the year, the Irish depth is being tested by injuries. Donovan Hinnish is out with a concussion, Gabe Rubio is still out, so we'll see how much depth we have on interior of the DL.

Freeman also announced that the gippers favorite player, Erik Schmidt, will handle the place kicking duties this week.

5Irish take down Detroit Mercy, with no mercy!! 102-70. We shot 52% from the field and 43% from 3 point land. New guy Carson Towt at Center had and excellent game and if he continues to figure out the new teammates he'll be an asset. Of course it's sort of hard to take away too much optimism from a win like this as I don't think Detroit is a very good team, LIU looked better. But still coach got to play a lot of kids, 12 played tonight and even Brady Stevens the walk on son of Brad Stevens played and scored 2 points. Up next E. Illinois on Monday.

Apparently the Navy QB, Blake Horvath, who was having a great season and is a very talented player will not play tonight vs the Irish.

Hope he's OK and can get back to playing this year. His backup doesn't have much experience .

The Iowa weather is in South Bend for the game.

Navy QB has played well and he's going to be sore, he's almost been a 1 man offense of their 33 plays, he's run 20 times and passed 6 times.

Irish offense had one bad series but other than than that they have had 3 very nice TD drives, Carr has been efficient with his passing, hit a few big ones. Navy is doing what BC did and basically playing their defense to force CJ to throw and so it's been tough to run but as with BC it's lead to some open WR's and good plays.

Best news for the gipper is that our PK made all three xp's with ease!!

    21-10 Irish.

Weather has turned worse, it's snowing now in South Bend. Irish up 42-10 and we have seen the last of CJ Carr and his backup, Kenny Minchie will finish the game. Probably won't see Love or Price either.

Good win, 49-10. Defense shut them out in the 2nd half and the offense was excellent.

On to Pitt next week. They are #24 and have been playing well since they changed QB's to a true freshman.

Pittsburgh is a potential spoiler. They're ranked. They're playing well. We're playing at their home field. A perfect scenario for an upset. If I'm saying it, you know the coaches are saying it. I sure hope the players listen and prepare accordingly.
