Maybe the younger Sean Miller would kill it at Texas, but I do wonder if he's got the fire in his belly still. He had a good, not Rick Pitino good, run at Xavier and some of that might be Xavier as a program right now . We shall see, Texas fans are not patient when it comes to Basketball.
Ricks Arizona Wildcats had a great win over Florida and an impressive debut by freshman K Koa Peat who poured in 30 points.
Buckeyes win their opening game this evening vs Purdue Indy 118-102 shooting a blistering 60% field goals for the game. Purdue Indy shot well too with 50% for the game. Not a lot of defense in this one.
Don, I'm uncertain if I should be happy about the offense or troubled by the defense? I guess I can be both at the same time
Peat was very impressive in his debut, with 5 assists on top of his scoring. Another newcomer who played well and really contributed throughout the game was Ivan Kharchenkov. PG Jayden Bradley won his match-up with Fland and will hopefully be added to the conversation of top college point guards. He was the driving force that led the team out of the double-digit hole they dug in the first half. Arizona only attempted five 3-point shots during the game. Florida had a tough night from the line and behind the arc.
Tribute to Dick Vitale by Coach K before the Texas/Duke game....was AWESOME BABY!!!! It's pretty amazing what an icon he's become. I think it's his voice and his knack for coming up with catch phrases like "diaper dandy". and others
Good first half. Ironic that Tony Padilla is reffing since he's a known Pac-12 coach irritant. Got a little Déjà vu seeing Miller calling a time-out too late after Duke went on a big run using the back-door cut. 33-32 Texas at the half.
Not so good second half. Duke in transition was too much for Texas and they seemed unable to respond. Good for them it's early in the season.
