Well that's one thing the Irish don't have to worry about! A terrific year would be just making the NCAA Tournament and a top 25 team would seem to be out of reach.
This Sunday, 10/26 we will play an exhibition game vs Ohio University here in Columbus at 2:00. The game will be televised on Big Ten+ network. Last season was a disappointment, hoping for a much more successful season this time around.
I'm sorry but this is just wrong. With two former G League players recently committing to play for Division I schools, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said he doesn't "respect" the NCAA powerbrokers who've allowed those moves to happen. "I am going to get myself in trouble, but I listen to people talk about how kids changed. Kids aren't the problem, we're the problem," Izzo told reporters Tuesday. "This was sprung on us again yesterday where a guy can be in the G League for two or three years and then all of a sudden, he's eligible. Most of my people knew nothing about it. ... I'm not real excited about the NCAA or whoever is making these decisions, without talking to us, just letting it go. They're afraid they're going to get sued."
It's time to scrap the NCAA. Their arbitrary decisions and methods of the past have rendered them irrelevant. A new organization that recognizes and negotiates some set of rules and guidelines with representatives of college athletes is needed to bring some sanity to NIL and transfers.
I'm actually curious to see what the Aggies look like this season. A team completely burned to the ground and rebuilt out of the portal...
Purdue - Kentucky tonight in an exhibition game in Lexington. SEC Network 6:00. Should be interesting but how do you go about playing an exhibition game like that?...doesn't count in the standings or rankings theoretically but ....
It's coming to football you can bet on that. I'm surprised that the requirement of playing 3 years in college has held up this long, I mean there are kids like the WR at Ohio State, Smith, who could have played in the NFL this year and certainly is ready. But he has to play next year before he can go to the NFL. Not to mention that kds who go to the NFL without a degree and with eligibility left are sometime in the future going to be able to return to college to get their degree's and play the year or 2 years that they have left.
