No, Don. Given the years of people unable to guess it, I'll reveal that it's EWALT, the last name of an ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War. I'm SB III, so I got the same name as my grandfather. As a young kid I wanted to change it. At a class gathering prior to HS graduation, the principal read my entire name to the class to - as he said - get it out of the way. It led to my friends starting a chant, E-E-E-Walt, which carried over into college. It was minimally embarrassing at first, but it never really bothered me and actually led to laughs and to my being immune to embarrassment. Probably TMI but I'd like to think we had a bit of fun for a while during these slow summer days.
Don, could you resend to me? I went to sign up and somehow I can't find the original email. I must have accidentally deleted it.
I assuming everyone invited to the Yahoo Pick'em contest has received their invite from Yahoo, if not let me know. I know that many of you prefer to wait awhile before signing up. One change this year will be that I have decide to use the Yahoo default group for selecting the games each week. Last year I used the top 25 teams and was a little disappointed in the results.
A valid point Kyle, I had visioned the top 25 would make the picks more difficult, but that was not the case. If others might feel the same way, I can always make changes until the first game!
Thanks for your input Sid. I want everyone to realize this is not my contest but for all Skyboxers and friends.
Advantages and disadvantages. Problem with top 25 is the crappy games early on that everyone gets right. Problem with the Yahoo picks is teams that guys like me...who aren't as knowledgeable as some of y'all about the minor teams don't know much about the teams playing. (Though the games are more competitive than some of the early games involving the major teams.)
