Arkansas pitcher pitched the 3rd no-hitter in MCWS history and the first since 1960 (65 years) to eliminate Murray State. He threw 119 pitches. He had 19 SOs which I think I saw is the most in a 9-inning game in the MCWS. He was throwing 96 mph in the 9th inning.
Well I was pulling for UCLA, but I suspect Arky (who I'm not fond of either) probably has a better chance at pulling the upset on the CoonCats, so I guess I have to hope they win. I'm not a Louisville fan either Terry, they came to College Station a couple of years ago for regionals, and while not horrible, they didn't endear themselves either.
At least Coastal took care of Louisville!! That was quite a finish for LSU last night. They are 4-1 vs the Hogs this year so clearly they are deserving of going to the finals.
He got off to a rough start, but recovered nicely for the remainder of the game. I was hoping for a slugfest, but turned out to be a defensive game.
I won't be able to comment on that question until I see his girlfriend. Seriously, IMO he's a different kind of pitcher from Skenes, not nearly as much overwhelming power and speed but definitely impressive poers and finesse. He'll do very well at the next level. Could be the top draft pick. We'll see. By the way, the Coastal SP wasn't exactly chopped liver.
Funny how times change, it wasn't that long ago that College Baseball Nat'l Champions mostly came from west of the Mississippi. Now it's the SEC and East of the Mississippi.
It's about investment. The SEC teams all (except Mizzou) threw a TON of money at infrastructure, and all the other facets (I'm talking pre NIL stuff like stadiums and recruiting budgets). It paid off large. And F L$U. At least the Aggies beat them 2 of 3 during the regular season.
