What a treasure Pete Cordelli has in those boxes. I hope he's able to write a book with those notes as an outline. For us NDers it would be a good read.
This was "The Irish Invasion" weekend. It's one of the biggest recruiting weeks of the year for ND. Lots of positive stuff coming out in reports of course, but not sure we've picked up any verbals....yet.
Big pickup for the Irish men's basketball team. It didn't hurt that his dad is the S&C coach for Irish basketball.
As expected the Irish picked up a big man, whose legal guardian is again the S&C Coach of the basketball team. Sounds like a bit of a project, we shall see. BREAKING: Just one day after landing La Lumiere (IN) point guard Jonathan Sanderson to tip off the 2026 class, Notre Dame has landed a second commitment from the Lakers, the second pledge coming from 7-footer Gan-Erdene Solongo. Unranked in the class of 2026, Solongo lives with the Sanderson family and transferred from Ensworth Academy (TN) to La Lumiere along with them when Jon Sanderson, Jonathan's father, took the role as director of strength and conditioning in South Bend. Originally from Mongolia, the 2025 season was Solongo's first year of varsity ball, emphasizing that this is a raw prospect with tremendous size and upside. Is another QB named Brady Quinn in the Irish future? Maybe. This guy is from Fla not Ohio though!! Notre Dame had a huge run of success with Brady Quinn as their quarterback in the early 2000s, as he secured two top-4 finishes in the Heisman Trophy voting and led the team to a pair of BCS bowl games. Could another player by the same name be the Fighting Irish’s future at the position? 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn — of no relation — is one of their early targets in the rising sophomore class exactly 25 years after the player with his namesake signed with ND in 2003. The Naples (Fla.) First Academy passer is one of the top young passers in the country, making it onto On3’s top-100 watchlist for his class earlier this spring. There’s no family connection, but the younger Quinn’s father, Steve, is a huge Notre Dame fan and named his son in honor of the former Irish great, according to BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer.
