Disaster day for most of the top players thought to be the ones to win. Rory +3, JT is at +4, Scottie is at -2 as the top of the 'big stars" group. But no big names in the top 10. Who is Ryan Gereard?

JT made a run and got it back to close to E at least. But the leader board doesn't have any of the "big" names on it.

Scottie makes a great Tee shot on 17 and then misses the 4 footer for birdie. Rory has the same putt for par and misses it as well. Scottie still in a good position at -5 3 shots back of Johnnie Vegas. That's assuming he makes par at 18.

I didn't know this, but apparently they randomly test drivers for conformity before a tournament, and Rory's failed and he's playing with a backup driver. Might explain some things. I have to wonder how a driver that is made by a major mfg becomes non-conforming? Hard to imagine that Taylormade would deliberately make a driver non-conforming, but the article I read said that drivers can become non-conforming after a lot of use, how?

Starting to look like we might have that heavy weight shoot out after all. Bryson has surged into the lead and Scottie is right on his heels.

It seems like half of the field is tied for first.

The Green Mile bit Bryson, Bogey, Double Bogey with ball in the water and he's on 18 now. But he went from the lead to barely inside the top 19 at -5.

Scottie on the other hand just eagled the driveable 14, hit it to 3 feet

Green Mile no problem for Scottie. He finishes it off par, birdie, birdie for a 3 shot lead over Alex Noren.

His 65 is the low round today.

Scottie didn't have his best stuff today, but he didn't hit the ball in the water on 17 like both Bryson did on Sat and Jon Rahm did today to scuttle their chances.

Solid round though to keep the field at bay and secure the win.

Turns out that Scotties driver was also taken out by the conforming check, but he had been anticipating that and had been prepping a backup driver so it was no big deal. He said his team thought it was going to fail sometime soon as it's about a year old, I guess that's the life of driver on the tour.

I've never worn out a driver though. :D

I noticed that John Rahm spoke to reporters after his final round at the PGA, even though he had to be very disappointed. It can be done, I guess.

Tour returns to Texas this week, at the Colonial in Ft. Worth. Scottie is scheduled to play.

Yeah I agree, however, I think the difference is Morikawa went on to say he didn’t owe anyone anything after he walked off. I think maybe he needs to remember that the press, TV, and the fans are the only reason he is making 10’s of millions of dollars for playing a game the rest of us pay a lot of money to play.

Midwestern Golf Team wins NCAA Title....certainly not a usual happening in a sport dominated by warm weather programs. Congrats to the Northwestern Ladies.

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Northwestern captured its first NCAA women's golf title Wednesday when Dianna Lee holed a 5-foot par putt on the 18th hole to beat Andrea Revuelta for a 3-2 victory over top-seeded Stanford that ended a final hour of high tension.

Stanford advanced through stroke play with a record score to win by 27 shots and was poised to win its third NCAA title in four years and become the first team to win back-to-back since the move to match play in 2017.

Instead, the Wildcats were screaming with delight at at La Costa when Lee -- who had twice before missed putts that would have won it -- delivered the biggest putt of her life.

N'western women stun Stanford for 1st golf title

Scottie didn't just show up in Ft. Worth to celebrate his PGA win...he want's another win!:rolleyes::D

"I didn't just show up here to Fort Worth to just walk around and celebrate last week," Scheffler said Wednesday. "I'm here for a reason, and that's not to just play a couple of ceremonious rounds and then ride off in the sunset. I'm here for a reason. That's to compete."

Scheffler's third major also set him up to be the first player since Dustin Johnson in 2017 to win three consecutive PGA Tour starts

    Big Week.

LPGA has the USOPEN at Erin Hills, a course pretty much without tree's. I don't really care for the no tree look myself. It's long course for the ladies. I saw a graphic that the avg drive for the last 10 Mens and Women's USOPEN championships was 318 for the men and 250 for the women.

The men are at Muirfield for one of my favorite tourney's, Jack's Memorial. Scottie won last year.

Ben Griffin in the clubhouse with a 65 and is 2 shots up on the field at -7. Scottie not hitting fairways and it's costing him he's sitting at E and only a few holes left today.

Scottie finished at -2 and 5 shots back.
