Well my Buckeyes really stubbed their toes last night vs Iowa, losing 77-70 and no way do we get in the NCAA Tournament. A very disappointing season to say the least.
I agree Don, gotta say I'm very disappointed with this group. So inconsistent and disappeared too many times late in close games. I'm still supportive of Jake, but he's got to know that this is not the product we're looking for
I don't think Duke has to win another game to be a #1 seed, so Flagg not being available isn't a big deal, but they will need him for the NCAA's to make a run to the Final Four. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Duke coach Jon Scheyer said it's a "real long shot" that freshman star Cooper Flagg will be able to play in the ACC tournament semifinals because of an ankle sprain. Flagg rolled his left ankle in the first half of the top-ranked Blue Devils' 78-70 quarterfinal win against Georgia Tech. He hobbled off the court before heading to the locker room, then returned to the bench for the second half but didn't play again.
Gators looking to win the SEC and get the 4th #1 seed. Been an unusual season for them with their coach coming under Title IX type of fire early on and somehow getting past it and coaching them to a great season no matter what. Why does it matter? Sixteen of the last 23 national champions were No. 1 seeds. Six of the past seven champions have been top seeds, as well as 13 of the last 17. "We're approaching it with the same mentality we had all year, and that's just going out and doing our job, trusting each other, having confidence in each other and go out and win," senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. said. Clayton added that a No. 1 seed would mean little to him and his teammates. "Whatever path, I like my guys," he said. "Me and my guys against whoever." Golden, though, believes in analytics and numbers - so much so that he ordered up research on whether winning the league or advancing to the title game had any effect on NCAA Tournament success.
Interesting read as a retrospective on that year Feinstein spent with knight and how it came about by an IU student. The General’s Shadow
Longhorn fans are hoping Coach Terry doesn't return for 2025-26, but he's now won 2 SEC Tourney games and probably got the team into the NCAA tournament. It was his run to the elite 8 that force Chris Del Conte to hire him in the first place, could something like that prevent him from firing him?
Congrats Terry. I took the day off (the wife is on spring break), and ended up working on the tractor and horse trailer, so didn't see the Aggies early exit.
Longhorns smushed by former coach, Rick Barnes and his Vols, did the win over A&M count for that 13th bid for the SEC? Watched UH/BYU and the Cougars from Provo went down 15-0 right out of the gate and never really challenged the Houston Cougars. Best game of the day, Duke blowing a 24 point lead and had to hang on to win by 3 points. A critical mistake when UNC was shooting the tying FT saved the Dookies.
