Another ass whupping at home for the Irish men, SMU led wire to wire, and just buried us. Worst loss of the season coming on the heels of the bad Louisville loss. We are not likely to win another game.

Was able to watch the Irish women take apart Miami in Coral Gables last night. Total domination from the opening tip. There were a lot of Alums from the WNBA behind the Irish bench. Hanah continues to struggle a bit with her shot, but Liv and Sonia took up the slack. When I say struggle she still got 18 points, but she was 5-12 from the floor and 1-5 from 3pt line. Well below here averages. She still works hard on defense and also just her style of play gets her to the FT line.

It was a 40 point win and never in doubt. Now they go to Raleigh to take on NC State, currently #13 and 12-2 in 2nd place in the ACC. They have been playing really well and it's always tough to win at their place. They will need to be at their best to come out on top.

Also watched the 8 episodes of Here Come the Irish on Peacock. It was good, I would call it great, but it was a good retrospect for me on the season and seeing some of the players outside the lines. There is another show coming up on Netflix on the Irish season not exactly sure when that will be released.

The men play Pitt this Saturday, I'm afraid to watch.

Well bless my soul, the Irish got a much needed win at home vs Pitt, 76-72. It was a close game all the way, we did get a bit of lead late but Pitt almost chipped all that away. We won at the FT line once Pitt got to where they had to foul us.

I'm not taking this win to mean we've turned a corner, it's just nice to get a win. Freshman Cole Certa came off the bench to hit 3 - 3 pointers and JR hit all of his FT's, that was the key.

Thanks Don, at this point any win is a great win when you have been playing like the Irish. It would be nice if we finished with a few more wins, but i'm not especially hopeful.

On another note the #1 ranked Irish lacrosse beat #11 Georgetown on the road today. GT was the only team to beat the Irish last year.

Irish women lose their 1st ACC game on the road in 2OT to NCState. I was a great game to watch, NCState just played great, and they made almost 100% of their FT, that was the difference. Also their Freshman Swedish Center who had been avg 6 points per game went for 19 only missing 1 FG and 1 FT. Our Bigs combined only scored 8 points.

A loss like this doesn't hurt though, we are still a Final Four capable team and just have to learn and move on, next up is a good FSU team at home

Irish men have a tough and maybe impossible task going on the road to a very good Clemson team that is fighting for a good NCAA seed and who beat Duke recently at home.

Very tough loss for the ladies tonight at home to FSU, at one time had a 15 point lead and then it fell apart and we lose 86-81.

Hannah has lost her mojo for now.

They have a very tough Louisville coming in Sunday they need to win just to share the ACC regular season title with NC STATE.

I agree Terry, a difficult loss for the Irish, but the Lady Seminoles met every challenge the Irish put up and deserved the win.

Solid win in the last game of the regular season for the Women's basketball team. They are ACC Co-Campions. That 2OT loss to NC STATE gives them the #1 seed with the Irish the #2 seed.

It was right there for them to win it all, but they blinked. Need to win the ACC tournament to get back to a #1 seed for the NCAA.

IRISH mens lacrosse lost to Maryland in Atlanta, probably cost them their #1 ranking.

I just learned via social media that Brad Stevens' son is on the ND basketball team. Didn't know that.

Irish women face CAL in today's quarterfinals, they blew them out at home, hopefully it will be a similar result.

Men's lacrosse welcomes Ohio State, while the ladies welcome Boston College.

Baseball off to a good start, albeit against weak competition, will be at Wake Forrest a very good team.

Softball is 10-10 and open ACC play @Louisville.

Irish take down CAL, not quite the same game as it wasa close most of the game. They were unconscious from the 3 point line early and we couldn't throw into the ocean. The thing that kept it close was they were also a turnover machine, but we couldn't dow much with those turnovers. At the half they were badly out shooting us, but it was still a close game.

So an ugly win, at 74-63. We will need to play much better tomorrow or we'll lose. NC State also didn't play well as the #1 seed getting a 1 point win vs #9 seed Ga.Tech.

We play the winner of Duke/Louisville.

Both Baseball and Softball got hammered yesterday, probably more pain on the way.

    But this was unexpected, good.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Friday marked career win No. 600 for Catalino Family Head Hockey Coach Jeff Jackson as his Irish hockey program battled to a 3-2 victory at No. 3/3 Minnesota to open the Big Ten Playoff Quarterfinals. The Notre Dame team took the early lead just 90 seconds into the contest and would not relent en route to the game one win in a best-of-three series.

Irish women's basketball takes on a tough Duke squad in the semifinals. We beat them by 15 points at home this season, but it was a tough game for the most part. The Irish men finish the regular season with senior night vs CAL.

Some what of a disaster day for the irish Women and the Irish lacrosse. Women again just had no offense and lose to Duke a good team but one that we recently beat handily by 15 points. Ohio State came to ND and got a big win vs the Irish lacrosse who have now lost 2 in a row to Big 10 teams, Maryland and Ohio State.

On the other hand the Irish men had a very entertaining win vs CAL in 4 OT's 112-110. Markus Burton went for 43 and Matt Allocco went for 23 points. I didn't see I was playing golf but reports are that it was fun to watch. That puts us at 8-12 in ACC play and while not a great season for sure, at least we finished with 2 home wins.

The big job for coach is to convince Markus Burton to return to ND. I think most feel he won't be drafted by the NBA and his options are going overseas or transfering to a better program. If we have the NIL money for basketball maybe he'd stay rather than go to Europe. But the real risk is another NCAA program making him a target and make him an NIL offer he can't refuse.

I look forward to seeing more of these celebrations in the future. Yesterday's 4 OT win is a sign that this program's culture is growing under Coach Shrews.

Looks like the Irish ladies ran into a Duke team that found it's defense late in the season. Duke really put the clamps on NC State in the second half and won easily. The Irish seem to have run out of steam late in the season. Maybe an additional day's rest will be good for them.

In playoff basketball it's not what you did in Dec or January it's how you play at the end. The teams that are 1. healthy and 2. playing well are the ones that go far. We've currently lost our mojo, now nobody has blown us out, we've had our chances in all of our lossses, but we have hit some sort of shooting wall and Coach doesn't like our defensive intensity.

Oue loyal internet fans have pretty much figured out what Coach is doing wrong and what might be wrong with the chemistry of the team right now.

Well, I certainly hope they won't keep it to themselve and will let the coach know. ;)
