Fellows, my sleep patterns have changed drastically, since the time change. I think we should just forget about Daylight Savings time and move forward!:)

Standard time is depressing in late fall here in Wisconsin with sunsets between 4-4:30.
I would not mind permanent DST but really wish they would choose one or the other and stop the spring and fall switches.

I have mixed feelings for a few reasons, one of which involves spring, summer, and fall school and youth youth sports evening games, so like Bobda I'd prefer that year-round daylight savings time be the standard. However, in Indiana, with some exceptions, we had year-round EST until 2006, so I'm familiar with it and would adapt begrudgingly. The exceptions are 12 Indiana counties NW near Chicago and SW closer to St. Louis than Indianapolis who are on midwest time, so there's that.

I don't care for the 4:30 sunsets but it's no big deal. I didn't care for the dark mornings at the bus stop when I was a kid either. So it's a 4:30 sunset or an 8:00 sunrise. It's kind of a tossup, at least to me.

It's all no big deal to me...I prefer DST but...what REALLY irks me are the short days...who's gonna do something about that?

There was a politician back in the 1970’s who advocated for DST stating that it provided an extra hour of sunshine. Who knew that legislation could alter the earth’s rotation and axial position!

Probably related to the guy who thought Guam could capsize if we put too many people on it...

I read some discouraging news this morning. Ticket sales for our game with Tennessee Saturday night are running pretty close. Volunteers and Buckeys 55% Ohio State and 45% Tennessee fans. Sound familiar to Notre Dame games in recent bowl games? Second chance and much higher prices abe being gobbled up by Tennessee.

I'm a bit surprised at those numbers Don, but then I don't really understand how the sales are handled. Aren't the Buckeyes season ticket holders given first shot? In the ND cases the existing ND ticket holders sold out to the visitors to make the inflated profits from the secondary markets. If that's what's happening at Ohio State, I'm pretty shocked.

Turns out Terry there was an accidental leak on the early ticket sales and all of the good tickets were gobbled up and resold for hugh profits. Always makes one wonder what really happened. Maybe OSU fans deserved the way they were treated to the Michigan loss?

I heard that after the tickets were made available to season ticket holders, remaining seats are offered to the general public. There was apparently a leak of a pre-sale code that may have allowed the Vol fans to jump the gun. In any event, they have always travelled well but there ain't gonna be 45% of the stands in Orange. Our season ticket holders are 60% of the seating, so you'd have to assume one of two things. 1) Vol fans purchased every single ticket available to the general public, or 2) There is a significant amount of selling by our season ticket holders. Neither are even plausible. I expect the Vols to get more than their fair share of the tix allotted to the general public, so if they outperform and gobble 75% of those available that gets them to 30% of the total seats. That would seem to be the upper end of the likely range in my view. In any event, that's way too damn many. What am I missing???

Re: Notre Dame. Based on past history, Notre Dame fans are at best fickle and at worst ticket whores who will sell out to make a buck. Mark my words...It wouldn't surprise me to see as much as 30-40% red in the stands.

As I predicted there could be some major changes in the contest this week. Tom McCord assumes the lead and is the only one standing at 6-0 in the contest.

That’s the case Don. Every time Rocky Top is played I get a dollar. Royalties from Waffle House jukebox boxes this week have been pouring in from the Columbus Ohio area!
