FCS Quarterfinals winners.... South Dakota, South Dakota State, North Dakota State and Montana State...seeing some sort of pattern here!
I see that the PSU backup qb has left the team for the Portal. They used him for his dual threat capability this season. Franklin is not happy. The real world is going early helps the kid to get more offers and be able to go on recruiting visits
He didn't want to leave yet...he pretty much had to enter the portal to get start next year and the rules wouldn't let him stay for the playoffs and still enter the portal in time. You are right Franklin is not happy but he's upset with the rules and feels sorry for the kid. The kid has always loved Penn State.
We've got not one, but two QB's announcing for the portal. Our #2 and first off the bench Devin Brown and #4 RS freshman Air Noland. My understanding is that at least Brown, if not Nolan too, will stay with the team through the playoffs. Clearly both got passed up by Bama transfer Julian Sayin and saw the writing on the wall with recently signed recruit Tavien St. Clair. Almost impossible to build and keep quality depth at QB in this day.
Good for Travis Hunter. Colorado Buffaloes two-way superstar and 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter was excellent on and off the gridiron, achieving an outstanding GPA score. It was revealed earlier this week that Hunter was named an Academic All-American, sporting a 3.798 cumulative GPA. "The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, is an anthropology major carrying a 3.798 cumulative GPA," read the release. "In the fall of 2023, Hunter earned a 4.0 GPA and followed that up with a spring 2024 semester GPA of 3.908, earning him first-team All-Academic Team honors."
Unlike the ND game, I am not nervous about the Texas/Clemson game. I think the Longhorns will win handily.
