Nephew is off to Pine Valley for the Crump Cup. I hope he plays well.

    Crump Cup
    [edit]
The Crump Cup is an invitational golf tournament for amateurs. The first tournament was held in 1922.[18] It is named for George Arthur Crump, and is played on the grounds of Pine Valley Golf Club, which Crump founded.[19] The format for the four days is two rounds of stroke play, qualifying, followed by two rounds of match play.[20] The final round has traditionally held on the last Sunday in September. Jay Sigel has won the event the most times, with nine victories between 1975 and 1993.[20]

Since at least the 1970s, the public can, on the day of the final round, tour the golf course and view tournament play.[21] This is the only day each year on which the public has access to the grounds of the club.[22] Visitors park at the nearby Clementon Amusement Park, where a local youth athletic association charges $25 per car.[23] Yellow school buses then take fans on a five-minute ride down a secluded side road, away from amusement park, and unload in a gravel parking lot in the woods.[19] Visitors are not allowed to bring in cameras, video recorders, or cell phones. Admission is for the afternoon only.[24]

Hard to believe Tiger has had this many surgeries.

Tiger Woods had yet another surgery on his lower back Friday morning. This one he hopes will relieve some of the spasms he experienced this year.

It was the sixth surgery on his lower back in the past 10 years.

Tiger has latest back surgery, eyes return to golf

Ladies had a good day in the Cup and lead 6-2.

Nelly Korda played like the #1 in the world.

It's the President's Cup this week in Montreal. Everybody expects the USA to win handily. Hope that's true, but not sure it's good for the competition going forward unless it can become more equal like the Ryder Cup.

Also I saw this about Fred Couples and took heart in the fact that my longest iron is a 7 iron now days. I have 4, 5, 6, 7 hybrids in the bag. :(

Some tidbits on the Presidents Cup.

    1. USA has 8 of the top 15 in the World Rankings, the Internationals have 1
    2. Patrick Cantlay is wearing a hat, unlike the Ryder Cup. I guess they fit better
    3. Scottie Scheffler as the World #1 has a terrible record in team competitions.
    4. The course is shorter than the Pros are used to playing and so expect a lot of low scoring.

Looks like the Internationals woke up on the right side of the bed today. They are kicking our butts so far in alternate shot format.

USA, USA, USA! 18.5 -11.5 and we keep the Cup. Scottie had just an OK Cup, lost his singles.

Langer continues to amaze me. He's my hero.

PHOENIX -- Bernhard Langer won for the 18th straight year on the PGA Tour Champions, holing a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole to hold off Steven Alker in the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship on Sunday at Phoenix Country Club.

The 67-year-old Langer closed with a 5-under 66 -- shooting his age or better for the third straight day and 23rd time on the tour -- for a one-stroke victory over defending champion Alker -- who won the season points title and a $1 million bonus --

Nelly won this past weekend and the LPGA is playing it's year ending Championship.

The PGA has finalized the rules going forward as to the size of the field and how do you get a card and keep a card. They go into effect in 2026 and the guru's on Golf Channel said it's going to be harder to get the card and keep the card at that point.

I saw an interview with the CEO of the R&A today and he said he's worried about the financial future of the game a bit. He wonders if the current purse structure is sustainable. He thinks the Majors are going to be just fine, but wonders about the rest.

He also mentioned the project to standardize the golf ball and start using it in 2028.
