The whole Politics board has been silent on all things.

Actually I think it's a good idea. I think it's why AJ and Krebs no longer post on the Skybox.

It did seem a little anti-cultist.

Yep, I agree. I haven't posted anything there since July. It just seemed that collectively - myself included - we all don't play well with others on things political or the markets and economy as there always seemed to be political overtones, real or not. Much prefer the tone and tenor of the banter around college sports and animals. Hell, I've known you guys longer than either of my 2 adult kids, hate to see anybody get pissed off/hard feelings.....

I heard something a while back that I wish I could remember who it was so I could give credit, but it's worth saying here since I think we're all friends.
Friends have to be able to "forgive" friends for having different opinions.
Things have gotten so bad these days its like being in a clan. You're either with us or you are the enemy.
But that's not how it's always been, and certainly doesn't have to be going forward.
I have a good friend at work I've known for almost 20 years. We have some very different opinions on politics, but we can still talk about it. I listen, and think "Wow, you have some GAPING holes in the logic of that point of view" but, I let them finish and say my piece. If we can't find common ground we just agree to disagree and move on.

It would be great if strangers or just acquaintances could do that, but surely friends still can??

It is said that people lose their sense of humor as they age. If true, Mike is an exception to that rule.
