    It's getting real folks!

Have a Thursday night game with unbeaten Pitt hosting 1 loss Syracuse, but that 1 loss was to woeful Stanford. I have to like Pitt at home vs the Orange.

Have a good slate on Friday night as well, with Boise State one of the teams with a shot at the Group of 5 slot in the playoffs @ UNLV. Also Rutgers travels to USC, can they put another nail in the coffin of Lincoln Riley? Probably not but his seat has to be very warm.

    Saturday.

    1. Oregon vs Illinois The Illini are a solid team but the Ducks just too talented and Autzen Stadium is a Death Valley like place to play.

    2. Georgia - Bye

    3. Penn State @ Wisconsin. I'm sorry I'm just not a believer in the Nits. I won't be surprised if the Badgers pull an upset.

    4. Ohio State vs Nebraska After watching IU lay 56 on them, I think the Buckeyes can put a hundred on them. They won't but it won't be close.

    5. Texas @ Vanderbilt I think the Longhorns bounce back and take care of Vandy. The defense will be the key. What to watch for is if the offense struggles does Arch get the call again?

    6. Miami vs FSU Used to be one of the great games every year. But the Seminoles are woeful this year and this game will be a rout.

    7. Tenn - bye

    8. LSU @ Texas A&M both squads have early season losses but are atop the SEC standings as the last unbeatens. This should be the game of the week, Aggie QB Connor Weigman is healthy and playing well, LSU QB is All-American caliber and their defense is improving. I'm thinking shoot out myself.

    9. Clemson vs Louisville Dabo seems to have the Tigers humming right along and Louisville is a solid team but not enough to go to Death Valley and win.

    10. Iowa State - Bye

    other games

ND vs Navy The Irish will have their hands full vs the Middies who have added a passing game to their always difficult to handle triple option. ND needs to win this and of course get some style points if possible, but I could see an upset or a close Irish win. Riley Leonard will have to be nearly perfect vs the Navy.

Washington @ Indiana The Huskies beat Michigan at Seattle but then were routed at Iowa. The key is that IU QB who has been the key to their season will be out for this game. That opens the door for an upset.

Oklahoma @ Ole Miss 2 teams badly in the need of a win, but with the problems that OU has at QB I can't see them going to Oxford and pulling the upset.

BYU @ UCF BYU is unbeaten and certainly could end up in the B12 Championship game, I doubt they have much trouble with UCF, even on the road.

Missouri @ Alabama Again 2 teams needing a win, I don't know what to expect here. The Tide just haven't looked like what you expect from an Alabama team since the Georgia game. South Carolina had a shot at them, if Brady Cook is on, maybe Missouri will as well.

Michigan State @ Michigan Well the Spartans did beat Iowa last weekend, and Michigan still is unsettled at QB. But being at home I think is the difference. I bet the Wolverines don't throw 15 passes in this game.

SMU @ Duke Both have only 1 loss and so that makes this a big game in the ACC. SMU has a dynamic young QB in Kevin Jennings, Duke has Longhorn Transfer Malik Murphy and former Longhorn DCoord Manny Diaz replacing Mike Elko. Don't know what to think here.

Good breakdown, Terry. Alabama is vulnerable. They should beat Missouri but their lack of execution creates a big question mark.

Terry, Smith has really done a nice job at MSU rebuilding a program that cratered after the Mel Tucker fiasco. State fans I suspect will show up in AA in large numbers which will reduce the home field advantage. Right now, M is FUBAR with our only two weapons on offense being our TE and Mullings our RB so it does not take an Einstein DC to come up with a strategy to neutralize that. We have not named our starting QB. Would not be surprised if Sparty comes home Saturday night with a win which would put our chances of bowl eligibility in jeopardy as we still have Oregon, Indiana, and Satan State to play along with NW.

Missouri won't have their leading rusher for the trip to Tuscaloosa.

Saw an interesting hot take about using injuries to stop the clock.
If a player is down and can't make it to the sideline, they have to sit out 10 minutes of game time.
That might curb some of the shenanigans...

Missouri looking like Brady Cook will also miss the game. Former ND QB, Drew Pyne, will be the starter.

He's a good but not great backup.

McCord had a brutal game last night throwing 3 pick 6’s in the first half. At one point in the game, Pitt had under 80 yards in total offense and was leading 31-7. I imagine Buckeye fans are now looking at Will Howard more fondly.

I watched part of the first quarter and was in shock with what was happening. I still do not have a clue as to what was out of wack. One interception was a fluke, but the others were disatrasious. I actually felt sorry for the poor guy.

    5 picks, 3 pick 6's...beyond bad.

He's been having a good year I think up till last night.

To Bob's point Pitt lost the stats game only having 144 yds total offense and still scored 41 points

Good news for the Gators, we won't lose today. But of course that is because we don't play today. :)

However next weekend we play Georgia and that is almost a guaranteed loss.

We are playing our freshman QB Lagway and he has been spectacular so far.

    Later

Buckeye fans refresh my memory. When McCord left, I seem to reemember it was because he was told he'd have to compete for the starting job this season and he didn't like that and left. My question is who was he going to compete against? Was Day going to bring in a transfer QB, like Howard, or was it against the existing QB room?

I'm surprised at this, are you Bobda?

Michigan will turn back to Davis Warren as the starting quarterback against Michigan State on Saturday, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Alex Orji is likely to see time in a change-of-pace role to highlight the quarterback run game, the source said.

    Two scores that are surprising.

Ohio State 14-6, I thought it would be 35-6. But a lot of football left so could still be a rout.

Oklahoma 14-10 over Ole MIss ...I thought for sure this would get away from OU early and also be a beat down on the road in Oxford. Again lot of time left for this to become just that.

No rout. Nebraska takes the lead with a Riola TD pass. Upset alert in Columbus!

Well baring something weird the Buckeyes will survive the Huskers. Just looking at the stats the one that stood out to me was the Buckeye running game.

Terry, not surprised as the rumors all week was that Tuttle was hurt. Orji was terrible as a starter while Warren was bad but showed some ability to pass.

Buckeyes hang on to win a grueling game against NU.
