Oh boy, will week 7 be as exciting/upsetting as week 6? Some really good games this week. Big Friday night game for the Big 12 as #16 Utah takes on Arizona State. The Utes are the pre-season favorites but they got beat by BearDownRicks Arizona Wildcats and they need this win to keep up. 1. Texas vs OU The Red River Shootout, Longhorns are favorites and this is a big rivalry game so that doesn't mean anything and we still don't know if it's Arch or Ewers. OU has a salty defense. 2. Ohio State @ Oregon This is the game of the weekend. Buckeyes looked good in the 2nd half last week and Oregon has been coming on strong. Should be a great game. 3. Oregon vs Ohio State. 4. Penn State @ USC Big big game for both teams. Lincoln Riley needs a win, a home loss to the Nits will not go over big with the Alums and they just lost to a average Minnesota team, and PSU is not average. I expect the Nit's will win but it will be close. 5. Georgia vs Mississippi State State is at the bottom of the SEC, Dawgs should have no problem here. 6.Miami Bye 7. Alabama vs South Carolina The Gamecocks are a welcome sight for Tide fans after the earthquake loss to Vanderbilt last weekend. This was a burn the film type of week preparing for them. Tide gets back on track. 8. Tenn vs Florida The Vols get back on track vs the Gators. Vols defense leads the way. 9. Ole Miss @ LSU Should be an offensive shootout. Both Jaxon Dart and Garrett Nussmeier are really good QB's. I'm not sure about the defenses for either team. I won't be surprised if the Fighting Tigers pull the upset in The Red Stick. 10. Clemson @ Wake Forrest Dabo has the team going the right direction and it should be a breeze at Wake. Other games Iowa State @ West Virginia A big game in the big 12, both are unbeaten in the conference. Always a tough road trip to Morgantown. Stanford @ Notre Dame irish had the week off to prepare and get healthy for the Cardinal. On paper it should be an easy win, but nothing has been easy for the Irish we've lost a couple of OL's a couple of DE's and having to play a lot of young guys. Still if Riley Leonard's play in the 1st half vs Louisville becomes his norn them we should be fine. CAL @ Pitt Pitt is undefeated and CAL is a pretty good team. But they might be a bit bummed after that loss at home to Miami. Big game for Pitt, can Eli Holstein continue his great season? Arizona @ BYU BYU also an undefeated team looking for another win to keep up the pace in the Big 12. Arizona already went to the Mountains of Utah for a big win, can they go 2-0 in the Wasatch Mtn's? UAB @ Army Probably the first trip ever for UAB up the Hudson River, Army at 5-0 is looking to go to 6-0 and become bowl eligible. They should do it. Lots of other good games this weekend . Indiana, Navy and Michigan have the week off, I wonder who will start the game at QB when Illinois comes to the Big house. Can IU keep it going
I’ve got one for Legend: Calling in to Finebaum’s show is like take a ****. “It may make you feel better, but it still stinks like ****!”
Looks like it will be Quinn Ewers at QB for the Longhorns Saturday, no big surprise. Coach Steve Sarkisian expects quarterback Quinn Ewers to be ready to start when No. 1 Texas plays No. 18 Oklahoma in the Allstate Red River Rivalry on Saturday in Dallas, but the Longhorns will continue to monitor his recovery through the week. Ewers suffered an oblique injury while throwing across his body and was replaced by Arch Manning in Texas' victory against UTSA on Sept. 14. Manning started the past two games -- victories over UL Monroe and Mississippi State. Sarkisian said Ewers practiced three times last week and again Monday. "I thought he looked good coming off the bye," Sarkisian said. "I think if anybody benefited from the time off, it was probably him. We're going to monitor him daily just to kind of see how he continues to progress, but I feel good about how he was [Monday]. "I feel good about him going into Saturday, but that remains to be seen."
It's final, Ewers will start. “You know, Quinn has earned and deserved that right to be our starting quarterback,” Sarkisian said this week according to On3. “Arch has continued to work really hard. Like I said, we’re fortunate to have him and the player that he is, the leader that he is as well.” Sarkisian also explained why he has decided to be so honest about the team’s decision at the quarterback position. “It’s just me being honest. I sleep better when I’m honest,” said Sarkisian. “So, just being honest. I mean, that’s how I genuinely feel.” “I speak to it like I would anything else. I try to be very matter of fact with y’all. So I don’t feel like I’m trying to send messages or mix messages or anything,” Sarkisian said. “It’s just that that’s how I feel.” Ewers is expected to be healthy and ready to play when the Longhorns take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. That will likely mean that Manning will return to the bench.
Apparently Cam Rising isn't the answer! Also So.Carolina v Alabama is more competitive than I thought it would be. 14-7 right now.
Wild ending to the half, safety by the Tide, fumble by So.Carolina and then interception on Milroe and a FG by the Gamecocks. 14-12
Whoa this was a great game, the Tide escapes with a 27-25 win on the failed 2 point conversion. What a great catch by the Carolina kid on the TD leading up to the 2 point try.
Yikes talk about a premature post....South Carolina executes the onside and have the ball...but no a last ditch attempt Alabama picks off the USC QB and finally the game is over.
Really thought SC was going to steal one after they recovered the onside kick but Alabama’s defense rose up at the end. Great game.
Tenn coming in and then there is LSU . I can't see you losing to both those teams, same for OU. But I get why you feel that way, the last 2 games have just been frustrating for the Tide.
Longhorns up 21-3 on OU late 1st half and seem to be rolling after a scoreless 1st qtr. USC up 20-6 on Penn State at the half
