The "Big Z" says he wants to get paid or he'll walk after this season. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2763803&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
A lot of guys, including Roy Oswalt, say that before their last season on the current contract. But I don't remember many saying that it would be bye bye if they don't get it done before the season. Maybe he's angling to move to Boston or New Yawk.
Hasn't he been about the only Cub pitcher to stay healthy? What's the story with Kerry Wood and Mark Prior? Healthy and ready to go?
Haven't heard. The Cubs' off-season SP signings (Lilly and ??) tell me that they are not counting on either one. If one or both get healthy and back close to their old form, I'd think that would be a bonus.
Well looks like Cubs fans can exhale now, Zambrano has signed a pretty big 1 year contract to avoid arbitration. Almost 13 million dollars this year, or aobut 1 million dollars per win!
Your math is a little off, Terry. I calculate it to be (hopefully) about $650,000 per win....or less.
