I'd like to see what Rees could do with a real QB who can make the difficult throws and can stretch the field.

First of all let me apologize for not being around more. In 3 months I turn 86 and am not as active as I once was and time seems to fly. But this forum has meant so much to me through the years that I feel guilty.

Having said that here's an article about NIL that indicates the NCAA may finally be getting more involved. Unfortunately the Gators are prominently mentioned for a guy we didn't get and I personally am glad he is going elsewhere.

Referring back to my previous comments I have watched more NFL that in a long time. The QB from KC, Mahomes has a lot to do with that.

Watched all the playoff games and will be tuned in next Sunday for the final between the Chiefs and the Eagles.

    Go Chiefs.

Thanks Terry and I enjoy when I come here.

One of my joys through the years is how many Skybox members I have personally met and that trip to Kansas City for a baseball game organized my Aj was great.

Sounds similar Don, I will be 86 in May so you have a little over a year on me. I am doing pretty well also, at least I think. :)

It looks like Tommy Rees has accepted the Alabama job. Good luck to him. I also see that Todd Grantham who has been a DCoord at 3 different SEC schools and in the NFL, was offered the DCoord job but elected to take a job with the New Orleans Saints.

I'm not sure Grantham was offered the job. He interviewed for it but ended up leaving for a position coaching job with the saints

Well Rees surprised me a little but so be it. I have always been a fan of his from the time he set foot in SB but hoped that we would see more out of our offense than we had so far with him as OC.

actually this will be Freeman first real OC hire as Rees was hired before Marcus and he ended up sort of having to keep Tommy if he wanted to stay after Kelly left.
Hopefully MF hires another pro style OC with plenty of experience. Also needs to be able to recruit.

good luck to Tommy. We’ll be fine

Tommy Rees, Offensive Coordinator and Kevin Steele, Defensive Coordinator at Alabama. I'm not sure what to think.

Steele seems to be a good fit for Saban.

Saban has typically brought in defensive coordinators he has coached with in the past and who know his defensive system. Steele checks both boxes and is widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in college football, having recruited the SEC footprint extensively.

In addition to Alabama and LSU, Steele has served as defensive coordinator at Auburn and Clemson. He has worked under some of the biggest names in the college game, including Bobby Bowden, Tom Osborne, Johnny Majors, Dabo Swinney and Saban.

Neither seems like homerun hires, but we'll see. Saban obviously knows a lot more about this than I do.:D

Well the last vestige of scholar in athletic scholarship has gone by the way. Div. I and II will no longer require SAT scores as part of college admission. Hate to have those pesky tests get in the way of NIL money.
