I believe I mentioned this as a potential natural extension of this depravity way back when pay for play was first put into practice with guys like Ewers. In a down economy with people hurting on so may fronts, this can only push fans away. Its perverted.

They have got to do something about the Portal. The Boise State starting QB has entered the Portal. He did it now to preserve a season of eligibility. He quit on his team for selfish reasons. But he will still get the free semester.

    Hank Brachmeier.
Bachmeier is a four-year starter at Boise State, and by leaving before playing in his fifth game this season, he will preserve two seasons of eligibility remaining at his new school.

Bachmeier has started 29 games in his career for the Broncos, and his success combined with his experience should make him one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.

Harsin at Auburn may already be out at the end of the season.

Tonight is the Start of Week 5 of the College Football Season.

Utah State is at BYU of much interest to Irish fans as they are our next opponent in Las Vegas! BYU should win handily and be a very tough match for the Irish.

Friday night see's a big Pac12 matchup between 2 undefeated teams in UCLA and Washington. Washington is a surprise team so far with the transfer QB from IU (Penix) playing much better than anybody expected and UCLA has a returning senior QB in Dorian Thompson-Robinson a multitalented qB or as they say "Dual Threat".

How about the top 10? Some good games here.

    1. Georgia @ Missouri It shouldn't be much of a game, Missouri finds way's to lose and UGA will have many weapons to help them out.

    2. Alabama @ Arkansas This potentially is the best game of the weekend. Arkansas really should be undefeated and that has to smart. Will Sam Pittman be able to channel that into a big effort vs the Tide? We'll see. Alabama hasn't really been challenged since the trip to Austin, but kp has worries about the Tide WR not being up to what they have been for the last 5 years or so where they were loaded with AA first round draft picks. I have no doubt that the game atmosphere will be wild in the Hills. Hogs are a tough physical team, if they can play a clean game might be an upset brewing.

    3. Ohio State vs Rutgers Buckeyes can likely name the score here. RU does have a good punter though.

    4. Michigan @ Iowa This will be a solid test for the Wolverines on offense, Iowa is one thing and that is a solid defensive team. Too bad they have no offense. It might be a low scoring game, but UM should win, unless of course an Iowa offense shows up. JJ McCarthy gets a big test here.

    5. Clemson vs NC State Possibly another really great game, Clemson barely escaped Wake Forrest last weekend and #10 NC State is a real challenge. Clemson will need another good game from DJ Uga...???

    6. USC vs Arizona State Another name the score contest.

    7. Kentucky @ Ole Miss Very important SEC game, which team is for real? Will Levis vs Jaxon Dart, Mark Stoops vs Lane Kiffin. I'm not sure what to expect, Will Levis has been rising up the QB ratings and I've seen some say he's the #1 QB in the upcoming draft, even slipping ahead of C J Stroud. Any game with Kiffin is interesting!

    8. Tenn Vols get the weekend off to get ready for LSU.

    9. Oklahoma State A week off.

    10. NC State @ Clemson Big game.

    12. Utah vs Oregon State Beavers played USC and their powerhouse offense to a standstill until that last series. Can they go on the road and do it again, Utah not a powerhouse offense. Utah has played well since their opening loss to the Gators, some still think they have a shot at winning the Pac12 which has no divisions this year.

    17. Texas A &M @ Mississippi State. I think the cow bell has been tough on the Aggies. But this a chance for the A&M offense to get untracked. Max Johnson has a couple of starts under his belt and showed me some stuff in the Ark game last weekend. Aggie defense is tough, Mike Leach is weird. I'm betting on Tough.

    18. OU @ TCU Sonny Dykes has the Horned Frogs undefeated but haven't played anybody. Brent Venables has to get his team refocused and go on the road vs a good not great team. OU should get back to their winning ways.

    21. Minn vs Purdue Gophers have got a good solid win over Mich State under their belts and people always underestimate PJ Fleck as a coach. Purdue hasn't been impressive so far this year, barely getting by FAU last weekend and losing handily to Penn State and a weird loss to Syracuse where they had a bunch of personal fouls late (including one on the coach) that helped Syracuse to the win.

    22. Wake Forrest @ 23 FSU Wake almost took down Clemson, they have to hope they didn't leave it all on the field. Going to FSU to play a "revived" FSU team is going to be big for both teams. FSU still trying to get some respect and are ranked for the first time in a long time. Has Mike Norvell got the programmed turned? Sam Hartman will test his defense that is for sure and FSU QB Jordan Travis is capable of doing some damage to Wake's defense. Might be another high scoring game like last week's Clemson/Wake game.

    25. KState vs Texas Tech Two teams who pulled off big upsets vs traditional Big 12 Powerhouses Texas and OU. Which team has put that behind them and is focused on this week. Adrian Martinez had the game of his life last weekend, can he do it again? His career at Neb was marred by lots of big plays and lots of crucial turnovers.

Texas vs West Virginia Longhorns still won't divulge anything about Quin Ewers, Sark keeps saying all the qB's are practicing. He needs to win vs WVa this weekend. JT Daniels is playing well right now and WVa has played both of their losses pretty close. Again, Longhorns must win.

LSU @ Auburn Auburn is a mess, they had to beg Missouri to give them the game last weekend. Kelly won't give them anything and he needs the win. Much intrigue continues to swirl around Auburn. Some say they were ready to fire him after Missouri but then Missouri snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Some reports that they are going to wait till the end of the season to fire him. If LSU puts a beat down on them I doubt they wait.

ESPN and SEC Network off of Dish Net because of contract negotiations. I hope this doesn't last long.

Damn, TCU is drubbing the Sooners, 41-10 at the half. Michigan having no issues today with Iowa so far, 20-0.
Can understand why Iowa is frustrated with Petras. Missed a lot of receivers today.

And the Badgers are a program in decline. Brett returns to Madison and his Illini are thumping the Badgers, 31-10. Wisky fans are going to in torch and pitchfork mode on Cryst.

I am pretty shocked at the beat down that TCU put on OU. Venables reputation as a defensive coach is pretty outstanding. So this performance by his defense is unbelievable.

As Bobda said Chryst's seat is bound to be heating up, I can't imagine Barry Alvarez tolerating the direction of the program.

Tide are in control after the 1st qtr, Arkansas not doing anything against the Tide Defense and Bryce Young is torching the Hog defense.

Really good win by Ole Miss, aided by 2 critical 4th qtr fumbles by Will Levis in the red zone when it looked like Kentucky was going to get some scores

Wake Forrest is putting it on the Seminoles... Hope they crush them. I am a big fan of Sam Hartman the Wake QB.
